Domestic workers have been fighting for state Bills of Rights to protect workers from exploitation—and it hasn’t been easy.

Domestic workers already carry a huge load through the work itself. And still, workers marched, organized, showed up, and took action in their free time to secure labor protections for our communities. That's when Ai-jen Poo knew this movement was going to grow into something unstoppable.

Because when your workplace is someone else’s home, so much of what you do can go unnoticed.

Her days are full—feeding, comforting, cleaning, organizing, anticipating needs, keeping routines moving, and giving children the care and attention they need to thrive.

It’s skilled, demanding, deeply human work. We won't stop fighting for it to be recognized as such.
