Domestic workers make all other work possible.

This International Domestic Workers Day, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez—a proud daughter of a domestic worker—reminds us why the fight for domestic workers' rights matters.

On , we celebrate the power of domestic workers organizing across borders.

June 16th marks the anniversary of the 2011 adoption of ILO Convention 189, a historic international labor standard won through years of organizing by domestic workers around the world.

The convention affirmed that domestic work is important work and that domestic workers deserve the same fundamental rights and protections as all workers.

June Barrett, a member of NDWA, spoke at the International Labour Organization about our rights and represented a movement that continues to grow stronger every year. Happy !

From Delaney Hall, NJ to Dilley, TX—we know that families belong together.

As Stacey Abrams reminds us, we can be better than this. Every child deserves the freedom to grow, learn, play, and explore with joy with their family, not separated from them.

The campaign is calling for an end to family detention nationwide and for a future where all children can thrive in their communities.

"This is about who we are, because every child deserves safety."

That was the message shared by Noel Candelaria of the NEA Today during our rally to end family and child detention. Every child deserves safety, stability, and the freedom to grow up surrounded by their loved ones—not behind detention center walls.

It's time to keep families together and end family detention once and for all.

Civil rights lawyer Nathalie from MomsRising.org points out that many Americans oppose the way immigration enforcement is happening right now.

There’s a strong belief that families deserve dignity, fairness, and protection—not separation or harm. We should be working toward a system that respects people’s rights and keeps families together in their communities.

One in three care workers in America is an immigrant, and it’s time our laws protected them.

The Careworker Visa Act would create a new visa pathway for childcare providers, eldercare workers, and in-home caregivers. With millions of caregiving jobs unfilled and care costs skyrocketing, this bill gives workers already here a legal path forward — and brings relief to families who need it most.

Care workers show up every single day for our kids, our elders, and our loved ones with disabilities. They ARE our communities, and it’s time our laws reflected that. We’re proud to stand with in this fight.

The House of Representatives just approved nearly $70 billion more for immigration enforcement while families are struggling with the cost of groceries, rent, child care, and health care. The reconciliation bill will now go to President Trump for his signature.

Imagine if those resources were invested in care, living wages, paid leave, and the support families actually need. Every worker deserves dignity. Every family deserves safety. Every child deserves the chance to thrive.

We'll keep organizing for a future that invests in care—not fear.

We're honored to share this beautiful story from The 19th News as part of their project highlighting the many revolutionary women whose contributions helped shape our nation.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States, it's important to remember that women have always been at the heart of movements for freedom, justice, and democracy—even when their stories have gone untold.

Budget decisions are happening NOW in North Carolina.

The final budget should invest in the people who make care possible:
- Child care providers
- Direct care workers
- Home care workers

Families deserve affordable child care. Older adults and people with disabilities deserve to live with dignity. Care workers deserve fair pay and basic workplace protections.

Thank you to Mychal Threets and Congresswoman Delia Ramirez for advancing the MELT ICE Act and a vision rooted in care, not detention.

The bill would end immigrant detention and surveillance programs, phase out detention both private and public contracts, and redirect funding toward housing, healthcare, legal support, and community-based services—so families can stay together in their communities.

This is about building systems that support people, not punish them.
