Twenty years ago, Apple joined (RED) in the fight to end AIDS. When Tim Cook became CEO fifteen years ago, he made sure Apple’s commitment didn’t just continue—he made sure it grew. Apple has contributed over a quarter of a billion dollars to the Global Fund, connecting millions of people to lifesaving services where it matters most. Tim’s leadership has helped move this work forward and bring us closer to the end of AIDS, and we are forever grateful for his leadership.

70% of community health workers are women, many of whom face heightened risk of gender-based violence due to gender inequality. Many also belong to the marginalized populations they serve, including people living with HIV or LGBTQ+ individuals, and navigate stigma and discrimination themselves.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton. Though best known for her songs and sequins, she was also an activist. Thank you, Dolly, for being a vocal supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and for backing HIV/AIDS organizations at a time when doing so was taboo in country music.
