I donated my (left) kidney on 8/4/20; I think about THAT act/decision ... on MOST days since. What started out as a simple "Good Deed" in MY mind, turned into the single BEST decision ... of MY Life. It is (VERY) HARD to put into words the ABSOLUTELY GREAT feeling you have EVERY moment ... of EVERY day ... AFTER you open your eyes once the surgery is over. You actually get to feel like a Living, Breathing SUPERman EVERY day thereafter. IF I had known that I would get to feel like THIS, I would have done it 20-30 years earlier. However, IF I had, then THIS story ... wouldN'T exist. [Wooooof!]

Our Story

So ... I donated one of my kidneys to Jimmy Neebling; a good man with bad kidneys ... of his own. I saw a post on Tommy Carr's "wall" on 3/4/20 that he shared from HIS friend, Mary Gibney-Doherty. If NOT for Social Media (in general), facebook (in particular) AND their combined actions, I would NEVER have been in a position to know of Jimmy's need and be able to act on it. Prior to reading THAT post, I never knew, met or heard of Mary's Hero; in fact, she didn't even use his name in her post. On 8/4/20, five months later to the day, we had our operations ... which were successful.

This TRULY was ... a GROUP effort. Without the support of Susan Crosby- Fox, I might not have gone through with it. In all, five people had to do things in EXACTLY one way ... for the result to occur. OUR story ... is one of compassion, friendship & humanity. Even in troubled times, goodness CAN prevail and "normal" people can become ... elevated. In retrospect, THIS decision, was the BEST one ... I've EVER made!

We (Jimmy & I) have decided that OUR story is NOT going to end ... here. We have decided to encourage others to become Living Kidney Donors AND Recipients. THAT ... starts HERE!
