We’re this close 🤏 to major housing change.

A historic, bipartisan housing package is about to become law—and the House could vote any day now.

This bill would expand and preserve affordable housing nationwide (including programs Habitat relies on), but it needs one final push.

📢 Tell your Reps to vote YES on the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. It takes 30 seconds. 👉habitatnycwc.quorum.us/campaign/157298/

Before Habitat, there was Koinonia Farm.

In 1942, Koinonia Farm in rural Georgia brought people together—no matter race, gender or wealth—to live and work side by side, sharing land and resources.

Years later, after visiting the farm, Linda and Millard Fuller turned that idea into Habitat for Humanity—people building homes together, with no‑interest loans to make ownership more accessible.

Koinonia Farm still exists today, and that same belief in expanding access is what we’re still building on.

Our CEO, Sabrina Lippman, has been named to New York City Council's Advisory Group on Housing Affordability—aka where real solutions to NYC’s housing crisis start taking shape.

The group brings together leaders across housing, planning, design, finance, labor, and advocacy to help shape policies and drive solutions.

From building more homes to finding smarter ways to get it done, this work is all about expanding access and affordability across the five boroughs.

A milestone for Harlem and affordable homeownership.
joined Genesis Companies, Habitat for Humanity NYC and Westchester (TAG), HPD (TAG), elected officials, and residents to celebrate the completion of ANCP Morningside, a 36-unit permanently affordable cooperative development in Morningside Heights.

By transforming city-owned buildings into affordable homeownership opportunities, ANCP Morningside helps working families build equity, put down roots, and create lasting stability for generations to come.

"Homeownership is one of the most powerful tools for building long-term stability, generational wealth, and stronger communities.” - Sabrina Lippman, Habitat for Humanity NYC and Westchester CEO

That's why we support solutions that meet the housing crisis — block by block. Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani's Block by Block plan lays out a path to build 200,000 new affordable homes, preserve another 200,000, and expand real opportunities for homeownership across New York City.

🏀 The last time the made the finals in 1999, we were renovating homes in Harlem and hanging out with the Carters.

What were you up to?

06/02/2026

It started here — at Mascot Flats, our first build in NYC.
Since 1984, one block has turned into many… and we’re not done yet.

Because homeownership isn’t just about housing — it’s about stability, opportunity and putting down roots that last.

🏡 Together, we build — block by block.
