The French-American Foundation is the principal non-governmental organization linking France and the United States at leadership levels and across the full range of the French-American relationship. Founded in 1976 and building on more than two centuries of shared ideals between France and the United States, the French-American Foundation—United States works to enrich a transatlantic relationship

that is essential in today’s world. With its sister Foundation, the French-American Foundation - France, the Foundation brings together leaders, policymakers, and a wide range of professionals to exchange views and share experiences in areas of mutual concern for mutual benefit. The Foundation is best known for its signature Young Leaders program, which, since its founding in 1981, has built an enduring network of leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.

On October 2nd, the French-American Foundation and Le Cercle des Médias were delighted to announce our two winners at the 2018 Immigration Journalism Awards Ceremony at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy:

- JONATHAN BLITZER for his written piece “The Teens Trapped Between A Gang And The Law” (The New Yorker)
&
- SEBASTIEN JEDOR for his radio piece “Grand Reportage: Artistes réfugiés, paroles d’exil“ (Radio France Internationale).

We were also delighted to welcome keynote speaker Louise Arbour, United Nations Special Representative for Migration, who delivered an incredible humanitarian speech on migration and the role of journalists in conveying essential information to the public.

The 2018 Immigration Journalism Awards Ceremony will be held on October 2nd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.

The French-American Foundation and Le Cercle des médias will honor two journalists: Sébastien Jédor, journalist at Radio France Internationale & Jonathan Blitzer, journalist at The New Yorker. Our keynote speaker will be Louise Arbour, United Nations Special Representative for International Migration.
