Through mentorship, peer support, and professional development opportunities, Rachel deepened her understanding of trauma-informed, person-centered care while gaining hands-on experience serving older adults and Holocaust survivors.

"As a now full-time employee, I feel as though my transition was seamless because of the knowledge that I gained during my practicum."

Today, Rachel serves as a Social Worker with our Washington Heights and Bronx Holocaust Survivor Program and continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. 🎉

Every dollar raised through the Fall Classic supports the Holocaust Survivor Program and Affordable Senior Housing throughout NYC and Long Island, helping us continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.

We had a groundbreaking celebration at our Sol on Park in the Bronx yesterday 🏡 The new affordable housing development will bring 229 100% affordable apartments to the Morris Houses campus.

Selfhelp is proud to be part of this project alongside NYCHA, New York City agencies, The NRP Group, Goldman Sachs, and our many community and development partners to help older adults age with independence and dignity.
