Healing New York is proud to announce that we will honor Jalen Brunson's Second Round Foundation with the Game Changers for Children Award at our 2026 Fall Gala on November 19.

Co-founded by New York Knicks captain and NBA champion Jalen Brunson and his mother, Sandra Brunson, the Second Round Foundation has built its reputation on widening access and opportunity for young people through education, sports, mentorship, and community-based wellness programs.

"Healing New York and Second Round Foundation share a core value that young people should always be seen," said Aysha E. Schomburg, President and CEO of Healing New York. "When they have the support that they need, they can truly fulfill their dreams."

Our whole team came together last week for a retreat, and it was exactly what we needed. We spent the day supporting each other and brainstorming new ways to support the children and families we serve. Lots of great conversations, and some of the team even visited the GrowNYC teaching garden.
