Korean K9 Rescue We’re a 501(c)(3) creating a better future for homeless and mistreated dogs in South Korea. We are a group of volunteers in New York City.

We work in partnership with local and regional South Korean dog rescues/activists and high kill shelters. Many of our dogs come from the brutal dog meat trade and are also puppy mill survivors. None of these dogs will get adopted in their homeland of South Korea because of the stigma of "mixed" dogs. So we bring them to New York City for a second chance at a loving forever home. We are also working to end the dog meat trade in Korea where over 2.5 million dogs a year are tortured and slaughtered for consumption because of the belief that tortured dog meat gives medicinal benefits. Our Movement is creating awareness and pressure on the South Korean to put an end to this brutal trade. We stand with the Korean animal activist and rescuers in Korea. Flying direct from South Korea to New York City anytime soon? Help us save more pups!

Being a flight volunteer is super easy - our team takes care of all logistics from paperwork to ground transport! You’ll just arrive a little earlier to meet our team at ICN, and spend a little more time clearing customs at JFK. It usually only takes an extra 10 minutes too!

You’ll be bringing pups to find their forever home, while freeing up space at our rehabilitation center in Korea so we can continue our mission and save more dogs. If that’s not something to brag about, we don’t know what is!

Please note, Korean K9 Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) and does not reimburse nor compensate flight volunteers in any form. Volunteers must already have a direct airline ticket from ICN to JFK or know of planned travel in the future.

Houston, Apollo has successfully touched down and is ready for adoption.

Apollo is a 2 year old Malti-poo weighing just about 8lbs. He was rescued alongside some of the other littles you’ve seen this month at an illegal puppymill in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

This little one is a fire cracker! He can be a little shy at first as he gets his bearings. Totally fair with how small he is and how large the world is! Once he’s settled into your home though he’s a hoot. Apollo gets zoomies often and loves a good game of chase. He’s quickly adapted to all of the toys his foster has to offer and seems to know he deserves all of the fun this new life offers.

Apollo is continuing to work on his crate and house training, but he’s a very motivated little dude! A good routine will have him in tip top shape and make him a well rounded and confident pup.

Ready to blast off with Apollo? He’ll be making his grand entrance at this weekend’s event!

Meet Jupiter and no, he’s not more stupider! (IYKYK)

Jupiter is 3 years old and 15lbs of strawberry blonde curls~ He was rescued from an illegal puppy mill in Gyeonggi-do and hasn’t looked back.

He may be a celestial being but Jupiter enjoys sunbathing and anything cozy. He’s a boy of simple pleasures through and through. When he’s feeling goofy, you might find him curiously perched on top of something - atop his crate, the top of a couch - he likes to see the world from different angles what can we say.

Jupiter is doing well on his continued crate and house training, and enjoys his walks as much as his naps. With a good routine and guidance he’ll be talk of the town quickly! He also is completely disinterested in his feline foster sibling.

This husky is giving golden retriever energy ✨

Aires (like Buenos Aires) is 4 years old and the most eager to please guy. He’s been a crowd pleaser at our adoption events but sadly hasn’t found his perfect fit yet!

We know what you’re thinking - Huskies are too much energy, too vocal, too this and that, but when we say Aires is the best Husky we mean it. He can be a little chatty but that’s definitely part of his silly boy charm. Thanks to his fosters, he’s doing excellently with his crate training and is totally fine when left alone~ Your neighbors won’t even know!

Aires loves anything that moves and will cover you in kisses if you let him. Even though he loves being active, he’s also totally fine lounging with you after a hard workday. He’s also near perfect on his polite boy skills and knows how to sit and work his good looks for attention.

Our little lady Numi needs a foster takeover!

An ideal placement for Numi would be outside of the city, in an elevator building or on the main floor, and as an only dog! As her personality starts to shine, Miss Numi would definitely prefer to be the center of attention and bask in the DINK glory 🤣

She is super sweet but totally blind - it doesn’t take her long to get her bearings though and once she does you’d never know.

STOP THE PRESS!

We need everyone to see Cosmo in her ducky rain jacket - please refrain from acting out on cute aggression.

Cosmo, one of our 8 month old puppies rescued from a dog meat farm, is the last of her siblings waiting for adoption. Aside from being an absolute cutie-patootie, she is the sweetest girl and just has a gentle nature to her. She may be a little shy at events, but this girl is the biggest fan of toys and all things fun (but maybe not dressing up).

What’s her biggest downfall you might be wondering? The girl can’t make a decision to save her life. All day every day you can watch as she works through the very hard task of figuring out which toy is the best toy to play with. Records show she still hasn’t chosen one, so it remains mandatory for her to play with each and every one available.

Jokes aside, she’s a whole lot of fun to watch while she solo romps around and chases balls she very confidently throws by herself. Cosmo is also a princess in the streets! She’s an excellent walker and definitely enjoys little outings to explore the neighborhood.

This little muppet is Marley; he’s 5 years old, 10lbs, and some sort of Spitzy mix. He was rescued from chains during our Operation 1M efforts; If you remember Maro, Marley is her buddy! Our team kept returning to these two small dogs left outdoors until the owner was finally convinced to let us take them.

You can tell Marley is a big fan of the cushy life now. He will gladly lounge around and accept all the belly rubs and words of affirmation. He’s all around just a certified Happy Boii! He’ll follow you around the house and wag his tail anytime you glance his way~

Marley has proven to be an excellent walker, although he hasn’t gotten the hang of a NY step yet. He really enjoys sniffing anything at nose level! Once he gets fully comfy in a space, his favorite position is on his back, legs dangling in the air. We just know with this level of cuteness, he’s definitely going to be spoiled!

If you’ve been to one of our adoption events in the last month, you most certainly have met Lotus! She’s figured out the best way to get the most treats and affection is to position herself right next to our check in table. And who could say no to a girl with such pretty puppy eyes!

Lotus has really settled into the good life of fresh food and long walks. She loves laying at her fosters’ feet for naps, hoarding balls and toys in her crate, and sniffing for squirrels outside. She’s an excellent walking partner and rarely pulls on the leash too.

With her gentle nature and sweetness, Lotus is a gem for any family. She’s enjoyed scamming… we mean accepting… treats from kiddos at events and will patiently wait while they empty their treat bowls all for her. Truly though, she’s gentle with everyone and everything she meets! The highlight of every event though is when her fosters pick her up - this girl grows strong bonds with the people she trusts!

Come meet Lotus and give her all of your love and treats. She’ll sit real pretty for you!

What’s about as tall as a Madewell shopping bag and the color of a cripsy chicken nugget? Well Miko of course!

Miko is 4 years old and about 8lbs. She was rescued this summer from a horrible illegal puppy mill in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea but despite her past she’s the most precious little girl.

She can take a little bit to warm up to new environments, and it’s totally understandable when the world is so big! Miko was a little shy in her foster home at first, but once she learned that humans only want to love her, she’s starting to come out of her shell. She is the biggest fan of meal time and will do a little spin for you! Her crate training is going well and she’s even getting the hang of potty training.

Outside, Miko has the curiosity of a puppy. She’ll hop like a bun when she’s running around in the grass or sploot with her legs completely out to rest. She loves sun bathing just as much as exploring the neighborhood. And of course she’s a dainty princess on the leash~ She’ll stick right by your (left) side the whole time! Apparently Miko is a lefty as she strongly prefers to be your left hand gal.
