We are honored to see our ‘evidence-backed, cost-effective, and scalable’ vitamin A supplementation work featured on the GiveWell Conversations podcast. 💜

We’re so proud to be one of GiveWell’s Top Charities. For just $2, we can deliver twice-yearly vitamin A doses to a child — supporting vision, strengthening immunity, and helping save lives. ✨

Vitamin A supplementation is one of the programs GiveWell has supported the longest, and we’re currently funding it in many African countries. The program has an unusually strong evidence base for ...

How much does our co-founder Helen Keller shape our work? 👀

Our CEO Sarah Bouchie shared in a recent interview with Inside Philanthropy, "working here, you can feel her presence in the kinds of decisions we make; we’re grounded in values that are about her…we have a person to live up to: this woman who did all these incredible things despite the odds." 💜

Today is World Health Day! 🌍

This year’s theme is from the World Health Organization (WHO): Together for health. Stand with science. 🔬

Neglected tropical diseases affect more than 1 billion people worldwide, and science has the power to protect them. These diseases are preventable and treatable, thanks to science. 🧪

Science is at the heart of everything we do. It's the evidence behind every treatment we deliver for trachoma, lymphatic filariasis, and other neglected tropical diseases. It's what guides our nutrition programs and informs the partnerships we build with governments and communities around the world. 💜

After last year's abrupt funding cuts put over 100 million people at risk, your support helped us build a bridge — allowing science-led care to continue for another year. ✨

Science powers health. Together we can make sure it reaches everyone. 🩺

What does it take to end child malnutrition in one of Kenya's hardest-hit counties? 👀

For Devota Leandry, it started with a childhood memory—watching families around her in Kilifi go hungry. Today, she's the Chief Nutrition and Dietetics Officer at Mtwapa County Hospital, and she's helping rewrite what's possible for children and mothers in her community. 💜

It's National Deaf History Month. 💜

Helen Keller once said, "I believe that if we make up our minds to do something great, we can accomplish it." 🤟🏼

She co-founded Helen Keller Intl in 1915. She toured internationally on behalf of the organization and in 11 years she visited 35 countries on 5 continents! Since then, the organization has gone on to help millions of people every year. 🌍

We are inspired by Helen's leadership and passion every day. ✨

Nicholas Kristof Kristof weekend The New York Times column highlights the positive impact we can have in the US and abroad including two cost-effective nutrition solutions:

For $380 million, less than five hours of war, we could provide vitamin A supplementation for the 190 million children who need it. Helen Keller Intl, a nonprofit engaged in this work, says this would prevent up to 480,000 child deaths each year and virtually eliminate blindness from vitamin A deficiency.

For $4.3 billion, less than three days of the war bill, we could largely end the most terrible form of malnutrition, called severe wasting. That would save about 1.5 million children’s lives annually. We would accomplish something historic: For the first time in the history of humanity, large numbers of children would no longer be starving to death.

Helen Keller Intl’s lifesaving nutrition interventions deliver enormous impact at very little cost. For just $2, a child can receive a twice-yearly dose of Vitamin A, strengthening vision, preventing blindness, and bolstering their immune system. Studies show this simple intervention can reduce childhood mortality by more than 25%. 💜

We’re honored that The New York Times opinion writer Nicholas Kristof highlighted this mighty, miraculous, and incredibly cost-effective work in his latest column:

“For $380 million, less than five hours of war, we could provide vitamin A supplementation for the 190 million children who need it. Helen Keller Intl, a nonprofit engaged in this work, says this would prevent up to 480,000 child deaths each year and virtually eliminate blindness from vitamin A deficiency.”

The Transforming Lives Through Nutrition program is making a huge impact! ✨

In just the first year, and together with our consortium partners, iDE and Vitamin Angels, Transforming Lives reached:
💜 29.5+ million mothers, babies, and healthcare providers with essential nutrition services and training
💜 25.5 million children with vitamin A supplementation and deworming treatment
💜 1.4 million women with prenatal supplements
💜 1.6 million children with malnutrition screening and treatment
💜 180,000 people with food and agricultural services

The program, which delivers targeted, evidence-based nutrition interventions across 12 countries has been supported by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who announced $1.58B in 2025 charitable giving, highlighting their “long-standing work with organizations recognized for their efficacy, impact, and integrity such as Helen Keller Intl.” 🗺️

"Some mornings we didn't know if there would be food by nightfall." said Mazeda, a mother of five in Bangladesh. 🇧🇩

She used to wonder if there would be enough food, but now, she runs a vegetable farm, co-owns a fishing boat, raises livestock — and sleeps peacefully! 💜

Now, Mazeda shares, "My children are fed, studying, and dreaming of brighter futures." 🥰
