L.E.A. was the secret Santa for 5 families at a local Kmart in Bronx, NY. We arranged to pay for the toys in layaway just in time for Christmas. 2 families were present at the store to pick up the toys for their kids. They could not contain their excitement when they were informed that their layaway balance was all paid for by L.E.A. Rachel T. one of the mothers was almost in tears while she gave a tight hug to L.E.A President and Founder Aleth Felix Tchicaya and thanked her for the kind gesture. She said this was indeed a Christmas miracle for her and her daughter. Both the families promised to pay the good deed forward in whatever way they could.
A big shout out to Gabby and Ganessa from Kmart who were kind enough to dedicate some of their time to help out in making phone calls and sending out emails to the families and sharing the good news.

L.E.A. USA Inc, continues to be a part of the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner celebration at the Next Step Men's Shelter in New York city by donating Turkeys and other food items. This year the dinner was hosted on November 20th for the 10 homeless guests living at the shelter. Lance Leener, Co-Director at the Shelter began the celebration with a word of thanks to all the cooks who assisted in cooking the fabulous dinner and to the staff and volunteers who had helped setup the layout of the tables with Thanksgiving themed decorations. Lance also offered a word of thanks to L.E.A for it's generosity. After a prayer by Rabbi Hirsh, and a hymn of thanks led by Cantor Daniel, dinner was served to the guests. L.E.A President and Founder Aleth Felix-Tchicaya spoke to the Shelter guests, who thanked L.E.A. and cherished the opportunity to interact with the volunteers and members of the Shelter. The resident homeless guests were appreciative to the staff, volunteers and donors who shared dinner with them. They also said they were extremely thankful for the love, care and kindness received at the Men's Shelter

Our sponsored soccer team has been making steady progress in the Pointe-Noire Soccer league in Congo-Brazzaville. They have advanced to the Second Division in the league and will play the championship series in 2017. If they maintain to stay in either 1st or 2nd position this year, they are sure to advance to the prestigious First Division in the league and will get an opportunity to play in the National League in the coming years. The players have put in a lot of effort and practice on their part and they attribute their success to their manager, Jean Antoine Bongou-Kolo for his guidance and training. We wish the soccer team our best for a successful 2017 season.
