Rattler Pride! Florida A&M University has been named the No. 1 HBCU in America in Niche’s 2026 Best HBCU Schools in America rankings. Strike, Strike, and Strike Again!

The recognition marks a major win for FAMU and reflects the university’s strong student experience, academic environment, and campus culture. In announcing the honor, FAMU said the ranking was based on student reviews, while Niche lists the school with an A- overall grade and thousands of reviews from users.

In Niche’s 2026 ranking, Florida A&M University is listed at No. 1, while Howard University appears at No. 3.

This is a huge moment for the FAMU community and another reminder of the excellence, impact, and legacy HBCUs continue to deliver at the highest level. Congratulations to Florida A&M University on this outstanding national recognition!
