Yesterday, CARECEN’s Legal Director, Areeba, spoke at The People’s Hearing on Immigration Enforcement in New York.

At a time when immigrant communities are facing heightened fear and uncertainty, we remain committed to standing with our communities, protecting their rights, and making sure their voices are heard.

We are grateful to everyone who came together to listen, share, and advocate for immigrant New Yorkers.

🎬 Join us at Stony Brook University for a screening of Undocumented, a film by Patricia Shih sharing the journey of Dr. Harold Fernandez from immigrant to heart surgeon.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, Q&A, and meet and greet. CARECEN will also be there with a table after the film to share information about our work and ways to get involved.

For more than 25 years, Salvadoran TPS holders have built their lives in the United States, raising families, contributing to their communities, and making this country home.
Today, those families face renewed uncertainty. CARECEN LA’s campaign uplifts the voices of children and young adults from Salvadoran TPS families and shows what is truly at stake: keeping families together.
Now is the time to listen, speak up, and take action. Residents of targeted congressional districts can urge their representatives to sign the discharge petition to bring the American Dream and Promise Act to a vote. Supporters are encouraged to act by August 31.
