We’ll cover the monthly crime review, a recent fatal hit-and-run at 57th St & 2nd Ave, and changes to bicycle enforcement, with a presentation from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

This holiday season, the 17th Precinct is proud to support children and families at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone through our annual Holiday Toy Drive.

A simple gift can bring comfort, joy, and a moment of normalcy to a child facing serious medical challenges. We invite our neighbors and local businesses to help us brighten their holidays by donating a new, unwrapped toy.

Together, we can show these children—and their families—that our community is thinking of them and wishing them strength, warmth, and hope this season.

On Saturday October 18th or Sunday October 19th more than 200 Firehouses and EMS locations will open their doors to the public from 11:00am to 1:00pm or from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for the 2025 FDNY Open House.

Firefighters, EMTs and paramedics will be educating the public about fire and life safety, conducting demonstrations, discussing careers within the Department, and offering tours of FDNY Engines, Ladder Trucks and EMS Stations.

🚨The United Nations General Assembly will bring increased security measures and travel disruptions to the East Side of Manhattan from Sunday, September 21 through Friday, September 26. The President of the United States and over 200 world leaders will attend. Community members should be prepared for numerous street closures, checkpoints, and demonstrations.

National Night Out Against Crime returns tomorrow. Please join us at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza on E 47th St (between 1st and 2nd Ave) from 5:00-8:00 PM. Come out and connect with your local police officers and other local community organizations.
Free burgers and hot dogs (while supplies last).
NYU Langone Health will also be offering free blood pressure screenings, blood sugar screenings, and more.
