Did You Know 🇺🇸🇬🇷

Dean Alfange was a Greek-American leader, attorney, and civic figure who helped shape New York’s political landscape. Alfange was also a founding member of AHEPA Delphi 25 and Past Supreme President of AHEPA.

Born to Greek immigrant parents in Constantinople, Alfange came to America and built a career dedicated to public service, individual freedom, and opportunity.

Alfange was appointed as chairman of the North Atlantic Committee of Friendship and Cooperation with Greece, founded by Ulius Amoss. The Committee was meant to recruit prominent Philhellenes to the philanthropic causes of the Hellenic-American community and, later, became a catalyst for FDR’s recruitment into AHEPA.

In the words of Alfange: “I do not choose to be a common man…”

A reminder that every generation has a responsibility to lead, contribute, and make an impact.

🇬🇷🇺🇸 The : Ten Years Strong and Counting!

In 2016, AHEPA Delphi 25 was reactivated by a group of Brothers who chose to reignite a historic legacy in Manhattan and build a chapter that was active, growing, and making a difference.

Fast forward to today.

250+ members. Thousands of volunteer hours. An average of $42,000 given back to our community each year. Professional networking, advocacy, scholarships, backpack drives, clothing drives, and a chapter that people genuinely want to be a part of.

Through these efforts, Delphi has grown into one of the largest and most active chapters in all of and become a staple in the Hellenic community.

Thanks to every Brother who helped build what Delphi 25 is today and to all those who continue to push our mission forward, build bridges within Manhattan, and ensure we can achieve true and meaningful .

🇺🇸 Did You Know?

Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, was also a Brother of AHEPA Delphi Chapter 25.

Initiated in 1931, President Roosevelt maintained his membership in Delphi 25 throughout his presidency. Following his passing, AHEPA dedicated the “War President” Bust at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library in Hyde Park, New York, honoring both his leadership and his connection to the Order.

History like this isn’t meant to sit in a photo album.

Instead, we use it to drive Delphi 25’s current mission: bringing people together, strengthening communities, and building relationships that make a lasting impact.

Today that looks like packing backpacks for students, creating opportunities through professional networking, promoting Hellenism, advocating for issues important to the Greek-American community, and working alongside organizations from every corner of New York City.

The names and faces change.

The mission doesn’t.

🇬🇷🇺🇸 Motivation Monday: Stronger Together. Since 1923.

When AHEPA was founded, Greek immigrants faced discrimination and barriers to opportunity. Our founders responded by building bridges. We connected communities by promoting education, civic engagement, and the belief that every immigrant willing to work hard deserves the opportunity to succeed.

More than 100 years later, New York City remains the world’s greatest melting pot, and that mission continues.

Sometimes communities are overlooked. Sometimes they’re left off the map.

But AHEPA Delphi 25 continues to serve as a bridge across culture and community. In doing so, we invest in the idea that the future of New York City is built through neighbors serving neighbors and different backgrounds standing shoulder to shoulder.

That’s why you’ll find us packing backpacks for students in Harlem, standing alongside our Irish and Italian neighbors during the America 250 celebration, advocating for Hellenic issues, and creating professional networking opportunities that help people build meaningful careers and lasting friendships.
