🎬 Before ( #世外) opens in North American theaters tomorrow, June 5, HKANY sat down with Director ( #吳啟忠) and Screenwriter & Producer ( #楊寶文) for an exclusive Q&A.
The filmmakers shared insights from the film's seven-year journey, the nearly 300-member creative team behind the project, and their hopes for audiences experiencing this Hong Kong animated feature on the big screen.
When asked what they hope audiences will take away from the film, Tommy shared, "It's a long journey, and you'll discover how this work was brought to life by many talented artists from Hong Kong." Polly added, "Stay curious about the film, and stay kind through difficult times."

ANOTHER WORLD (世外) follows Gudo, a Soul Keeper who guides human souls into their next life. After befriending a young girl named Yuri, he must stop her grief and rage from unleashing destruction on both the human and spirit worlds. Blending fantasy, action, and stunning visuals, the film explores forgiveness and reconciliation in the face of despair.
Currently the No. 1 highest-grossing Hong Kong film of 2025 and the highest-grossing Hong Kong animated film in history, ANOTHER WORLD is based on the novel SENNENKI by Naka Saijo.

This past Tuesday (February 3), nearly 100 guests joined us for the : Swings with at Red Pavilion Brooklyn, and the energy in the room was truly special. 🎶✨
We loved hearing feedback from many guests who shared that this was their first time experiencing Cantopop × Jazz. The audience appreciated the fresh, creative fusion that made the evening feel both nostalgic and new.

A Berklee College of Music graduate, Patrick has performed on international stages and collaborated with artists such as , and most recently served as music director for the × ( #側田) concert in Hong Kong. He is currently touring with RubberBand’s World Tour, performing in tonight and this Sunday, bringing heartwarming Cantopop to audiences across North America.
