🚨 Legislation Alert - Take Action to Support the Future of Audiology 🚨

📃 A new bipartisan bill, H.R. 6718, would reaffirm audiology’s status as a professional degree under Federal Law—helping ensure audiology students maintain access to appropriate federal student loan limits.

💡 Why this is important: Without this clarification, students pursuing a Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) could face increased financial barriers and fewer pathways into the profession, even as the demand for hearing health services continues to rise.

🗣️ Make your voice heard: Reach out to your U.S. Representative and encourage them to support the Professional Student Degree Act. Investing in audiology education helps preserve access to high-quality hearing care for patients.

ATTENTION LOUISIANA AUDIOLOGIST

Did you know….
Starting January 1, 2026, there will be a change to hearing CPT codes.

Some codes will be deleted and new codes will be taking over.

Be on the lookout for an update, via Zoom Webinar, to help clear up what we need to know.

This morning, three Louisiana Audiologist as well as a graduate student from LSUHSC are off to Capitol Hill to lobby for MAAIA. They have meetings with Rep. Julia Letlow, Rep. Steve Scalise, Rep. Troy Carter, Senator Bill Cassidy, and Senator John Kennedy.

We are hoping they will join as co-sponsors to a bill that would allow Audiologist provider status as well as eliminate the need for the physician order required for a Medicare beneficiary to receive coverage of medically necessary, covered audiology and vestibular services.

Please contact your Representatives and Senators and ask them to support S. 1996 / H.R. 2757.
