đź’š May is Mental Health Awareness Month đź’š
Mental health and homelessness are deeply connected.
For many individuals experiencing homelessness, the challenges of trauma, anxiety, depression, untreated mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic stress can make it even harder to find stability and hope. At the same time, the experience of homelessness itself can worsen mental health struggles.
At Travelers Aid Society of Greater New Orleans, we know that housing alone is not enough. Compassion, connection, supportive services, and access to care are all critical parts of helping individuals heal and rebuild their lives.
This month, we honor the strength and resilience of those facing mental health challenges and reaffirm our commitment to serving our neighbors with dignity, empathy, and support.
No one should have to struggle alone.
