Depaul USA New Orleans Depaul USA houses chronically homeless individuals with mental health diagnoses in New Orleans.

Depaul USA New Orleans provides housing and supportive services to homeless men and women with disabilities through its two programs:

Rapid Re-housing for Chronically Homeless Individuals (RRCHI) which moves individuals from the streets and into their own apartments and provides them with supportive services to maintain their housing. Depaul USA works closely with the housed clients for up to 24

months and then transitions them to independence and permanent supportive housing.

&

Coming Home which quickly connects clients to permanent housing without any preconditions or barriers to entry. Clients were living on the streets, in shelters, or abandoned buildings for over a year now live in apartments throughout Orleans and Jefferson parishes. All clients see a primary care physician, have mental health evaluations, and connect with other social service organizations. Individuals in these programs, receive the following services:
- Rental and utility assistance
- Monthly cleaning supplies and toiletries
- Case management
- Connections to medical and legal services

Service to the poor is an essential piece of Depaul USA’s Vincentian identity and spirituality. The Congregation of the Mission Western Province understands the deep roots of the Vincentian heart to give generously and serve selflessly.

Through the Walking With the Poor grant from The Congregation of the Mission, we have been able to help match the federal requirement for providing case management in supportive housing.

Case management is an essential part of our work and the success of our clients and their ability to adapt and stabilize in housing is due largely to the dedication, compassion and commitment of our case managers, Claire and Liam.
