Whether you are at the beginning of this journey, navigating surgeries and appointments, adjusting to limb loss, celebrating milestones, grieving losses, celebrating big wins that might seem little to others, or simply trying your best through another long week… you matter deeply.

🧡 Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month Day 28
🏅 National Adaptive Sports Day

As a parent to a child with a disability, adaptive sports aren’t just “activities” in our house… they’re woven into the rhythm of our lives.

They’re early mornings at the pool.
They’re trying, adjusting, and trying again.
They’re moments of frustration… followed by moments that make you want to freeze time and live in them a little longer.

I didn’t just sign my child up - I dove in too.

I’ve had the privilege of coaching adaptive athletes with , spending the past couple of years on the pool deck watching swimmers grow in confidence and strength. Mackenzie was watching athletes of varying abilities swim and cheering them on at the Paralympic Trials before she could swim a full lap!

Meanwhile, I’m heading into my paraswimming coach recertification tomorrow, and this weekend we’re off to Wisconsin for the Dairyland Games . And honestly? We’re just getting started. We’re stepping into a new season and Mackenzie is also trying track & field, with her eyes on tennis next 🎾

This summer is filling up with more opportunities to move through GLASA, Move United , Dare2tri , and more - each one opening another door, another “yes,” another chance to belong and bring more people in with her bright smile!

Adaptive sports have given our family so much more than skills. They’ve given us community, purpose, and a front-row seat to what’s possible.

If you’ve been thinking about getting your child involved—this is your sign. Jump in with us. We’ll be here, cheering you on every step (and stroke, and roll, and stride) of the way. 🧡

We've been so go go go sometimes we need to pause, notice, and reflect.

This month has been full of stories, learning, unlearning, and moments that remind us why community matters so much.

🧡 Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month Days 25 and 26 (it took me a while for this!)
🧡250 hearts. One unforgettable day.

What started as a single Facebook invite two years ago turned into something we could have never imagined.

Yesterday at Brookfield Zoo , families from near and far (even California!) came together—not just to visit the zoo, but to find something deeper…
Hope.
Understanding.
Growth.
Support.

And so many real HUGS too!

You can see it in every smile, every hug, every moment where a child realizes… “someone else is like me.”

There are glimpses here of where we started too - little Mack and her favorite giraffe 🦒, and behind the scenes of sharing this story with .

We never could have predicted this path.
There’s been sweat, tears, and a whole lot of heart poured into building these spaces.

But moments like this?
They make it all worth it.

Thank you to every single person who showed up, supported, traveled, and believed in this community. Because of you, our kids are growing up knowing they are never alone. And to the organizations and businesses ready to collaborate by providing something for the bags: we see you and can't wait for what's next!
