Meet Confetti! Confetti and her siblings were not faring well outside. But thankfully Maggie Mak was able to trap them so they could get medical care. And sweet Hollie Austin agreed to bring them into foster. After a week of meds, rest, and a lot of TLC from Hollie, Confetti and Tiramisu still weren’t feeling great, so we got them to the vet yesterday. They’re on another course of meds, but during the exam, the vet discovered that part of Confetti’s eyelid is actually adhered to her cornea (ouch!). It’s enough of an issue that the vet didn’t feel comfortable trying to treat it and referred us to an eye specialist. Little Miss Confetti will be seen next week so we can get her feeling better. The vet is optimistic that she won’t lose her eye!

Indie needs your help! While on a walk in their neighborhood, our foster’s little girls realized a very skinny kitty was following them home. She wouldn’t leave their side. Rebecca and the girls brought her inside and got her tucked in with food, and she finally got a chance to rest. Rebecca reached out and we agreed to cover her vet care so we can find this lovely little lady a forever family.

Indie was spayed yesterday, and unfortunately today she became lethargic and wouldn’t eat. After rushing her to the ER, we learned that she has free fluid in her abdomen, likely bleeding as a complication post-spay. We approved her for immediate surgery, as it’s the only option for her survival. The estimate is $6,023.35-$7,173.95.

Sweet Blackie showed up sick at the colony we care for. Jack worked diligently to trap him (Blackie didn’t make it easy!) and got him in for a sick visit at the vet last week. He was on meds and quietly resting at Jack’s house. Unfortunately he took a dramatic turn yesterday morning and passed away en route to the vet. Based on some tests, the differentials suggest either cytaux or FIP—both likely a death sentence for a frail outdoor kitty. We don’t know much about Blackie, other than that he was a very good boy and that he needed help. We can’t thank Jack enough for working so hard to get this sweet little friend trapped to get him some help. Outdoor life is so hard. We hope Blackie felt love and comfort in his final days and only wish we could have done more. Rest easy, little friend. Your life mattered. 🐈‍⬛

Meet Wren 🕊️

Wren was previously adopted through Saving Stevie, but was recently found outside with her microchip still registered to us. Thanks to our volunteers, she is now safe and back in foster care.

She can be a little shy at first, but once she settles in, Wren is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves cuddles, cheek rubs, and plenty of pets.
