What did you know before you knew?

You know the feeling.
Something tells you to call someone. To take a different route. To say yes. To say no. To trust someone. Or absolutely not to trust someone.
And you don’t quite know why.

At Consciousness & Cocktails: INTUITION, we turned a room full of strangers into an experiment in that strange space between knowing and knowing why.

We asked people to play. To notice. To guess. To listen to the thing that happens before conscious reasoning catches up.

And mostly, to talk to each other.

This is what The Science of Woo is becoming: a place to take the strange parts of being human seriously — without taking ourselves too seriously.

We’re reading ADHD Is Awesome together—and on Friday, October 16, we’re bringing authors Kim & Penn Holderness, authors of “ADHD Is Awesome.” to Analog for an intimate night with the TEDxNashville community.

The future isn’t something we’re supposed to sit back and watch happen.

On November 4, we’re gathering (in real life) to ask: What are we becoming—and how much of that future do we still get to choose?

FUTURE HUMAN will unfold in two sessions of talks, ideas, music and experiences exploring AI, creativity, technology, relationships and what it means to remain deeply human in a rapidly changing world.

But in between, we’re doing something just as important.

We’re gathering around The Future Human Table.

We’ll eat together. Meet people we might not otherwise meet. Talk about what we’ve just heard. Disagree. Wonder. Connect. And then return for Session Two having actually experienced one of the things we believe the future needs more of: people gathering together in real life.

Because the future isn’t only being built in laboratories and tech companies.
It’s being built in communities. In conversations. In the choices we make about what we value and what kind of world we want to live in.

Being an active member of a community means showing up, engaging with ideas, listening to one another and remembering that we have agency.

\We don’t have to simply adapt to the future we’re given. We can participate in creating it.

Last night, we did TEDxNashville inside the Parthenon.

Deep Listening brought together neuroscience, poetry, music, and conversation beneath Athena for a night about something increasingly rare: giving another person our full attention.

Two Nashville legends.
A conversation worth hearing.

We had the privilege of welcoming Manuel Cuevas and Leslie Fram to TEDxNashville Mixtape for a live conversation with Shaka Mitchell—founder of the Come Together Music Project podcast.

Manuel’s work has helped define the visual language of American music, dressing everyone from Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton to Elvis Presley and generations of artists who followed.

Leslie has helped shape the sound and culture of music from the other side of the industry—as a pioneering radio programmer, music executive, and longtime champion of artists. From her influential years in radio to her leadership at CMT, her career has been spent discovering, supporting, and creating space for the people who make music matter.

Together, they talked about the music that shaped them, the lives they’ve built around it, and the stories behind the soundtrack of their lives.
