Birdies for Charity is Here!

We’re excited to kick off another season of Birdies for Charity, an easy and impactful way to support Spring Forward! Through this program, every donation you make goes even further thanks to a bonus match, meaning your gift has an even greater impact on the people and programs you care about. Last year was a record breaking 9% bonus match!

This year, your support helps power programs like the 2026 summer enrichment experience, “Exploring Our Environment: Connect, Respect, Protect,” where young learners engage in hands-on outdoor adventures, science, and creative projects to build environmental awareness and stewardship.

Welcoming Our New Partner: Nika Loves Imagination

We are thrilled to celebrate Nika Loves Imagination, an impactful new partner whose generosity and creativity have already reached more than 120 Spring Forward students since last summer.

Through their engaging programming, thoughtful curriculum, and bundles of books and stuffed animals, they are helping young readers build confidence and discover the magic that lives inside every story.

And of course, nothing delights our students quite like Princess Elena, their 25 foot, giant inflatable unicorn, which has quickly become a Spring Forward legend.

Over 100 students had a truly enriching and engaging week during the Spring Intersession, a successful collaboration between Spring Forward and RIMSD from March 23rd to 27th. The week was packed with hands-on activities that kept all participants excited and active.

Highlights included a Soccer Skills Camp, run in partnership with Rock Island Parks and Recreation, which helped build teamwork and friendly competition, as well as Beginner Swim Lessons focused on gaining water confidence.

For creative expression, a new program offering, "ComedySportz Kids Camp," introduced students to improv comedy, boosting their creativity, quick thinking, and overall confidence.

Critical thinking and problem-solving were central to STEAM Discovery Days, with students engaging in interactive activities alongside partners such as Nahant Marsh, The Putnam Museum and Science Center, Ballet Quad Cities, and the Figge Art Museum.

By the end of the session, students had developed new skills, built friendships, and gained the confidence to try new things, making the Intersession a well-rounded success that supported both personal growth and learning.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the Spring Forward Fling this past Saturday at Mercado On Fifth event space.

It was a full house as supporters, partners, presenters and families filled the room to show their love for Spring Forward, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Finally, THANK YOU to everyone who spent their Saturday night, time (and money!) at the Fling in support of Spring Forward Students.
