Chapter President Bonnie Ballard was among the panel members during the MLK Day observance today at Augustana College - Illinois.

We were honored to be part of an important conversation today at Augustana College.

Our cofounder and director, Christie Adamson, joined a powerful keynote panel for the 2026 MLK Day program, “Acts of Compassion: Turning Care into Change,” held this afternoon. The panel was thoughtfully facilitated by Larissa Frimprong, Assistant Professor of Art, and brought together incredible community leaders including Bonnie Ballard (Rock Island County NAACP), Alejandra Camacho (World Relief QC), and Edwin Salazar (ThePlace 2B).

Dr. King reminded us that compassion is not passive, it requires action. We’re grateful to Augustana for creating space for dialogue, reflection, and collaboration, and for uplifting the work happening across our community to turn care into real, lasting change.
