Thank you to Jocelyn Rain for the presentation on color theory at our Guild meeting 7/21/26. She had fun activities and helped us learn ways to make “ugly” yarn pretty!! Thanks Jocelyn.

Equipment Inventory Party – August 8

Gina is storing our guild’s weaving and spinning equipment and is organizing a work session to catalog everything so we can build a borrowable equipment library for members. The inventory day will be Saturday, August 8 from 9am to 3pm.

A few notes about the location: Gina’s home is in Rock Island, the equipment is stored in the basement (full set of stairs to traverse), and there are a few friendly fur babies in the residence. If you’re able to help, please email Gina at [email protected] or contact me for the address.

This inventory project is an important step toward making our guild’s resources more accessible, and any help is greatly appreciated.

‼️ This weekend‼️

Weaving Weekend – August 1 & 2

Denise Garvey Lloyd is hosting a relaxed “Weaving Open House” this weekend for anyone interested in learning or getting more comfortable with their multi‑harness or rigid heddle looms. Experienced weavers will be on hand to help, and we’ll also have a table loom available if you don’t have one of your own yet.

The format is an informal drop‑in from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Come whenever it works for you. If you’d like to attend, please email Denise at [email protected] or reply to me for the address.

‼️ Next guild meeting July 21 6:30 PM ‼️

Our upcoming guild presentation topic is “Color in Fiber Arts” and will be led by Jocelyn Rain, and she has a wonderfully fun activity planned for us! To join in, please bring one skein of yarn you don’t love — your least favorite color, your “ugly duckling,” or that skein that’s been giving you side‑eye from the stash shelf.

Jocelyn will guide us through a creative exercise to help transform these “problem” skeins into something inspiring. It’s going to be a colorful adventure, even if the colors themselves are questionable.

See you (and your misfit yarn) at the meeting!
