We are just over one week away from the 2nd annual Unified 5K! For those unfamiliar with this event, it "is an inclusive road race and adaptive sports expo designed so that everyone can participate, whether they run, walk, or roll the 5k or 1.5-mile distance."

While we have all of our teams registered and are currently making final preparations and pairings, we want everyone to know that you do NOT need to be on or run with a mTT-MN team to participate. This event is open to EVERYONE, including walkers, runners, strollers, etc. "The Unified 5k is a space where athletes with and without disabilities show up together, challenge perceptions, and prove that fitness and sport are more meaningful when everyone has a place at the starting line."

We hope that you will consider joining us on Sunday, June 14th on Harriett Island in St. Paul for this amazing morning. Please check out the link to the website below for registration and more details regarding this race.

Once again, I had the awesome opportunity to represent MyTeam Triumph-Minnesota at the 3rd annual Global Running Day celebration at Twin Cities In Motion yesterday (6/3).
As posted earlier, this was once again an all-day event for everyone to attend. The staff at Twin Cities in Motion are all so incredibly gracious to not only mTT-MN but the entire running community.
I was able to meet and chat with (hopefully) possible new Angels and maybe a few connections to a couple of future Captains as well. I was also able to get in a 5K loop while running with an empty adaptive chair and also had a couple of people try out (run/push and ride in) one of our chairs. 😁

Our friends at Twin Cities in Motion have published their recent online newsletter, and one article features a familiar face from the mTT-MN family, our fellow Angel, Katie Mark. Katie has been providing her expert advice for TCM and the running community for years. Once again, she gives us great information regarding mental health and running.
Be sure to follow both Katie on her Instagram account and Twin Cities in Motion on their socials and newsletters.

When Miles Help the Mind
Running Toward Clarity, Connection, and Calm
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that caring for our mental well-being is just as important as caring for our physical health. While there are multiple ways to cope with stress, anxiety, grief, or overwhelm, movement can be one powerful way to support both mind and body.
Running doesn’t erase difficult emotions, but it often helps us carry them differently. It gives us space to think, process, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves. Some runs can feel strong and energizing. Others feel heavy from the very first mile. Both matter.
The mental health benefits of movement are well known: improved mood, better sleep, reduced stress, and decreased symptoms of anxiety and depression. But one of the most meaningful parts of running is the sense of connection it creates.
Twin Cities in Motion races bring people together in a way that feels deeply encouraging. Whether it’s the excitement and determination at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, the energy of the TC 10 Mile, or the support and camaraderie found at races throughout the season, these events remind us that we are not doing life alone.
You can feel it at the starting line and throughout the course: strangers cheering for one another, friends pacing each other through difficult miles, volunteers encouraging runners by name, and entire communities showing up to support movement and resilience.
As marathoner Eliud Kipchoge said:
“Running is a gift. Use it well.”
And maybe part of that gift is how movement has a way of helping us find clarity, confidence, and connection when we need it most. There are days when the pace, distance or finish time matter far less than the simple act of showing up for yourself.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, consider making space for small, intentional moments of movement. It doesn’t have to be fast or far. A walk outside after work, a short run before the day begins, meeting a friend for a walk or a run, or signing up for a race that gives you something to look forward to can all positively impact mental well-being.
Some days, motivation comes easily. Other days it doesn’t. But even small steps forward still count.
Because even in the hardest seasons, movement can remind us that we are still moving forward.

Stronger Together in Motion
On Wednesday, June 3, Twin Cities In Motion is celebrating Global Running Day with a 12-hour run/walk-a-thon built around movement and community.
From 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. runners, walkers, families, and neighbors are invited to drop in anytime for a high-energy, come-as-you-are celebration. Stay for a 5K loop, an hour, or all 12 hours -- however you move, your miles will be part of something bigger.

Moving with Purpose
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration that encourages everyone to get active, no matter their pace, distance, or experience level. At TCM, we believe movement is much more than physical activity. It's also about a sense of belonging and building a healthier, stronger Twin Cities together.
That's why this year's Global Running Day will be in partnership of Neighborhood House, a St. Paul organization that has supported immigrants and refugees on the West Side for over 128 years. Neighborhood House believes everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and celebrated in our shared community.

All-Day Ways to Move, Connect, and Celebrate
Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to track their miles, make donations, and contribute to a collective community mileage total. Sponsored miles and donations will support community health and well-being.
The day will include all-day activities designed to help participants move, connect, and learn more about the impact of movement across the Twin Cities. Stop by the Twin Cities In Motion Info Hub to explore volunteer opportunities, membership, and the ways TCM is working to build a more active and connected community. Add your story to the "Where I've Run" map, visit the Community Impact corner, recharge in the Recovery Zone, and check out TCM merchandise, including new gear and deals.

Start the Morning with Miles and Pancakes
The morning will kick off with freshly made pancakes, coffee, juice, and fruit supported by Anderson's Maple Syrup. At 7:15 a.m., participants can join a plogging run/walk, combining movement with picking up trash to care for our shared spaces.
In the afternoon, ASICS will be on site from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. hosting shoe demos, giving participants a chance to test out new gear while they move. The evening celebration will feature the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Truck, a Summit Brewing Co. non-alcoholic beer garden, food, snacks, and plenty of cheer.
Participants will also have a chance to win drawings for Twin Cities Marathon Weekend entries, including the 5K, 10K, 10 Mile, and Marathon; Mile in My Shoes Downtown Run Around 5K entries; Brave Like Gabe 5K entries; a $200 ASICS shoe certificate; Anderson's Maple Syrup; and more.

Join Us From Anywhere
Can't join us in person? You can still be part of the celebration. Upload a video of yourself running on Global Running Day, tag TCM, and you'll be eligible to win a complimentary entry to Twin Cities Marathon Weekend's TC 10 Mile.

Move for More on Global Running Day
Whether you run, walk, cheer, volunteer, or stop by to be part of the community, Global Running Day is your invitation to move more. Every mile matters, and together, those miles have the power to strengthen the communities we share.

Our pals over at Twin Cities In Motion posted a bunch of Get in Gear 5K, 10K and Sprocket Scamper pics from a few weeks ago. Here are a couple that we found of our AMAZING 5K team - Captain Emme with Angels Annie and Tori, and one familiar "little scamper".🤩👏
