Story Time was founded by two University of Minnesota students with passion for education and empowering communities from within. We believe that taking the time to listen to people’s stories will cultivate true community partnerships that will lead to sustainable community-led development innovations. Story Time works to improve the quality and access to education in secondary schools, by partnering with existing education and community structures, including government ministries, in Malawi, Africa.

🎓 Allowed 6 students to attend their graduation ceremony
💬 Host student rep and parent meetings to inform 2027 planning
📝 Provided 6 students taking standardized tests with electricity and a quiet, secure place to study

Thanks to support from the Story Time community, Madalitso learned skills for studying for exams and for supporting herself and her family.

She became a member of the Women's Empowerment Program, learning from and mentoring girls like her.

Because every girl has a story worth telling—and the right to finish school.
