Your voice matters - and right now, it's needed.

There are bills moving through the House and Senate that push back on restrictive h**p ban language. Every email sent to your elected officials helps build the case for clear, consistent federal regulation that protects consumers and supports responsible businesses.

Take a minute. Send the message. Then encourage your team, your customers, and your supply chain partners to do the same.

This is how we build momentum — one voice at a time.

Women in H**p is hosting a breakfast at H**p Beverage Expo in Austin on Thursday, June 18th at 8:00 am CT.

This is a gathering for the women shaping the h**p beverage industry: suppliers, distributors, retailers, ancillary partners, and everyone in between. A chance to connect as both women and professionals, share what life in h**p beverages looks like right now, and make space for the kind of genuine conversations that come from being in a room together.

Co-chaired by Paige Ross (Climbing Kites) and Leigh Gall (Cannabis Beverage Certification). No HBA membership required to attend.

MJBizDaily guest columnist Joseph Sheehey states "regulation, not a ban, is the inevitable outcome for h**p THC - and the operators who are prepared for that reality will be the ones still standing."

The $28 billion h**p market grew up in a gray area. That phase is ending. What replaces it will be shaped by the businesses that have already committed to transparent standards, dosage-based frameworks, and consumer-first practices - and by the advocates who are making the case for a smart regulatory home right now.

New research from NIQ tracked over 1,170 UPCs and 200 brands across convenience stores, liquor retailers, and other retail channels nationwide.

The data is clear: h**p beverages are showing up, scaling up, and earning shelf space in real retail environments. This is proof that the category has staying power.

Retailers and distributors are watching closely. So are policymakers. The more we can show that this industry operates with transparency and accountability, the stronger the case becomes for clear, consistent federal regulation.

POLICY UPDATE: Three Republican members of Congress have filed amendments to agriculture legislation that would prevent the scheduled federal ban on h**p THC products from taking effect in November.

Rep. Andy Barr's amendment would keep many h**p products legal, add labeling requirements, and institute new regulatory reforms. Rep. Russell Fry's proposal would delay recriminalization for two years. Rep. James Comer's measure seeks to prevent federal officials from spending funds to enforce last year's restrictive provisions.

The House Rules Committee is expected to decide this week which amendments can advance toward floor votes.

This is exactly the kind of legislative momentum we've been working toward. Clear, consistent federal regulation protects consumers, supports businesses, and builds a sustainable industry.

Stay engaged. The work continues.

The imagery used to represent h**p beverages shapes how consumers, retailers, and policymakers understand the category. Right now, a lot of it is creating the wrong impression.

When content leads with heavy plant imagery, dispensary aesthetics, or visuals that feel like they belong in a cautionary headline, it signals something unfamiliar and potentially threatening. That association follows the category into retail conversations, legislative offices, and purchasing decisions. It makes people uncomfortable with something that should feel as approachable as any other adult beverage on the shelf.

What works for the category: cans and bottles on a bar or shelf, pours into glassware, retail settings, adults in social situations, label close-ups.

What works against the category: heavy plant and flower imagery, smoke aesthetics, anything that conflates h**p beverages with alcoholic beverages, anything that could appeal to someone under 21.

Need stock images that better represent the category? We have them. Reach out to us at info@h**pbeveragealliance.org
