Congratulations to our CEO, Julie Zbaracki, on her appointment as Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation - MOHR president!

Hello MOHR Members and Partners,

As we start a new MOHR year, I am grateful to be serving as President of the MOHR Board of Directors. MOHR works because members keep showing up, sharing information, raising concerns, offering ideas, and staying committed to the people and communities at the center of our work.

Thank you to our outgoing Board Members, and President, Robin Harkonen, for their time, leadership, and care they have given to MOHR. Their work helped guide the organization through important conversations, challenges, and decisions. We are better because of their service. I am also excited to welcome our new Board members and look forward to the energy, perspective, and leadership they will bring.

There is no shortage of work ahead. Funding pressures, workforce challenges, regulatory changes, service access concerns, and uncertainty at the state and federal levels continue to affect providers across Minnesota. This is why MOHR’s role is so important.

The value of MOHR is in the ongoing connection. The updates when something changes. The committee conversations. The legislative work. The conferences and regional meetings. The ability to reach out and connect to people who understand our work. The opportunities found when we share our expertise and work together.

MOHR is stronger when members are involved. As we begin this new MOHR year, I encourage you to find one new way to increase your engagement. Attend a meeting, join a committee, respond to an action alert, share feedback, or reach out with an idea or concern. Your voice helps shape MOHR’s work and keeps our advocacy connected to what providers and the people we support are experiencing across Minnesota.

Thank you for your continued membership and for the work you do every day. I am looking forward to the times ahead and grateful to be doing this work with each of you.

In partnership,
Julie K. Zbaracki
President, MOHR Board of Directors

Fundraising can be a challenge but it's a fight worth showing up for!

Last year, together, PRI supporters raised more than $50,000 through Made in the Shade. Now, our 3 PRI teams are gearing up for another year of friendly competition ready to do it all again.

Donate today and help us prove once again that belonging builds stronger communities. Link in comments!

Today, we celebrate the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)—a landmark civil rights law that has advanced access, rights, and opportunities for people with disabilities. At PRI, we celebrate the achievements of people with disabilities while recognizing that ableism, inequities, and barriers still exist. True inclusion means more than access—it means belonging. We remain committed to creating communities where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued, included, and empowered to thrive.
