Neighborhood Roots Neighborhood Roots is a nonprofit that operates Southwest, Kingfield, and Nokomis Farmers Markets.

Our mission is to bring neighbors together to buy, eat and learn about local food. We support local farmers and businesses and promote vibrant community.

What an incredible evening! 🍂✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our annual Farm-to-Table Dinner! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful evening. Between the insanely stunning setting at Dodge Nature Center and the unbelievable weather (seriously, it didn’t feel like fall☀️), it was the perfect night to gather and celebrate our local food community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped bring this special evening to life. Your generosity and support mean so much and help us continue connecting our communities with the incredible farmers, food makers, and artisans who make our markets so special.

Farm to Table Dinner prep is in full swing! 🥕🌱

We spent the weekend picking up fresh produce from the markets that’ll be used in the dinner. Broders' Pasta Bar got some beautiful carrots, can you guess what they’re going to make?

There’s something pretty special about gathering around a table to celebrate the people who grow our food.

Neighborhood Roots’ annual Farm to Table Dinner is just ONE WEEK away!

Join us for an evening at Dodge Nature Center featuring a locally inspired, family-style dinner, live music, and a celebration of the farmers, neighbors, volunteers, and supporters who make our local food system possible.

Proceeds from the evening directly support Neighborhood Roots and our work to strengthen local farmers markets, support small-scale farmers and food makers, and build a more connected and resilient local food system.

We’re bringing together an incredible group of local partners for Growing Our Roots: Farm-to-Table Dinner & Fundraiser!

🍽️ Heather’s and Broders will be preparing the main dinner, featuring ingredients from our farmers and market vendors.

👨‍🍳 Chef Aaron will be creating hors d’oeuvres for the social hour.

🍷 Town Hall Lanes will be bartending and serving w**e and their own local brewery beers, with a signature fall cocktail from Du Nord Spirits.

🎶 Listen to Girls will bring live folk music to the evening.

🍰 A wide array of desserts from our market vendors will round out the meal.

We’re so grateful to each of these partners for helping us create an evening that celebrates local food, farmers, and our market community.

Did you know that most common metals are infinitely recyclable? ♻️ Free Geek Twin Cities is back at the market for our second low-to-no cost technology and electronics recycling drive of the season!

Bring your broken, obsolete or unwanted tech to the market during open hours to donate. Free Geek will fix what they can (to distribute at little to no cost back to the community), and recycle what they can't - giving your old electronics a second life.

Suggested donations are $5 for printers and scanners and $10-30 for TVs and monitors, but no one will be turned away.

🍂 Growing Our Roots: Farm-to-Table Dinner & Fundraiser

Join us Sunday, October 11 from 4:30–7:00 PM at Dodge Nature Center for an evening celebrating local food, farmers, and community.

This year’s dinner will feature a meal prepared with ingredients sourced from our farmers market vendors, with partners including Heather’s and Broders helping bring the menu to life. We’re excited to showcase the incredible farmers and food producers who make our markets special.

The evening will also include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, live music, a silent auction, w**e pull, dessert, and plenty of time to gather and connect.

Proceeds support the Southwest, Kingfield, and Nokomis Farmers Markets and our community food access programs.

Did you know there are perks to volunteering at the farmers' market (beyond supporting local food systems and building community)? 🌱

Anyone who volunteers 3+ shifts in a season for our zero waste program earns $15 in market tokens. And we still have seven weeks left of market season, so there's plenty of time to earn!

Other volunteer positions include setup and teardown, giving out samples at our Power of Produce booth, and helping run our community swaps. No previous experience needed for any role, including zero waste.
