There is no single system that can completely overturn and overhaul what we are surviving under overnight. But if we can understand and practice frameworks that get us closer, we have the ability to be self-reliant and responsible for our own. That’s what this is.

"We don't have to wait for direction to take care of one another" watch till the end for the guitarist locked in tuned out 😝🎶🎶🎸

Wow! $822 raised from this beautiful night for the families we serve. We'll be able to support 5 families who've been waiting in our queue with direct financial relief from this community contribution (yes, we know how to make every dollar stretch)

So grateful for spaces like Orisun Soul Sessions that don’t just create a beautiful vibe but use it to pour back into the community and support the work we’re doing at Seeds Worth Sowing. They cultivate such a great environment for joy and creativity to thrive. We encourage you to follow and keep up with their next events as we know they will be just as great as this one!

People hear "welfare" and get uncomfortable. Somewhere along the way, people twisted it into something to be ashamed of. We're done with that.
You benefit from welfare every single day — your roads, your schools, your fire department, your libraries, your street lights. That's welfare. Community taking care of community. Every thriving civilization in human history was built on this principle. No society has ever survived by telling its people "you're on your own." Not one.

This is exactly why we call it a Community Welfare System.
Not in spite of the stigma, because of it. ;)
We are reclaiming the word.

What we have built is a people powered alternative. No middleman. No funds disappearing into systems that overlook the very families they are meant to support. When you contribute here, it goes directly to people. You see it. You feel it. It stays in the community.
This is how it was always meant to work. People taking care of people. Not out of pity, but out of connection. The way communities have done for generations.

Most people who need support are already working. Showing up every day. The problem was never effort. It is a system that underpays and then shames people for needing help.

We do things differently. No judgment. Just meeting people where they are and helping them stand.
Welfare means well being. It always has.
We are bringing it back.
