We were honored to welcome Larry Fitzgerald Sr. to Sabathani in February for the opening of our Southside Sports Heroes Hall, where he was recognized as one of our inaugural inductees.

With news of his passing, we’re reflecting on the legacy he leaves behind as a journalist, storyteller, and champion of Minnesota sports.

We extend our condolences to the Fitzgerald family and all who knew and loved him.

Thank you, Larry, for helping tell our community’s stories.

Sabathani staff and volunteers gathered yesterday for a Volunteer Appreciation Party celebrating the individuals who give their time, energy, and talents to our community.

From Bettye Granger, who has been volunteering in our food and clothing areas for more than 37 years (!), to newer volunteers who recently helped out at community events, we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Because of our volunteers, Sabathani is able to continue offering a wide range of programs and services that support, nourish, and uplift our community every day.

Thank you for all you do! πŸ’š
