For 50 years, Tubman has been a place where people can find safety, hope, and healing. ✨

Every day, individuals and families across the Twin Cities turn to Tubman for shelter, housing support, legal services, counseling, youth programming, violence prevention, and other critical resources. In 2025 alone, more than 17,000 people received support and information to help them navigate trauma and build brighter futures.

Our work is grounded in social justice, partnership, respect, creativity, and integrity. We also remain committed to advancing racial equity and creating a future where all people can thrive in healthy relationships and peaceful communities.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, feel safe, and find hope.

Did you know that last year Tubman worked with over 3,800 middle- and high-school students from across the Twin Cities to teach about healthy relationships and violence prevention?

We're only able to do this work thanks to the support of organizations like the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. Thank you so much for your support!

A pet is more than an animal. They're comfort, companionship, and family. 🐾💜

For survivors of domestic violence, leaving an abusive situation can be even more difficult when a beloved pet is involved. Nearly 50% of victim-survivors delay leaving because they fear for their pet's safety, and almost 25% return because they cannot keep their pet safe.

That's why Tubman's Harriet's Haven for Pets exists.

By offering on-site pet sheltering, we're helping ensure survivors don't have to leave a cherished companion behind when seeking safety and support. Your generosity helps make this life-changing service possible.

This HOPEtober, help keep families together and remove barriers to safety.

Donate today and be part of a future where every survivor and every pet has a safe place to turn: https://heyor.ca/lEY6sZ

Yesterday, we held our annual peace walk and flag raising in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Each year, we gather with clients, staff and volunteers, and a few invited guests, to remember the lives of people who died due to domestic violence, and spread a little hope for peace.

This year, we were honored to have our friends in the work, Kaleena Burkes and Luana Nelson-Brown from the Office of Justice Programs Minnesota Office for Missing and Murdered Black Women and Girls, join us for the event. Thank you to Luana for being our featured speaker, and beautifully calling us together as a community.

To kick-start Tubman's HOPEtober campaign during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we hosted a free, community block party on Saturday, Octobere 3, for our neighbors to connect and learn more about Tubman and HOPEtober.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, listen to the music, watch our neighbors at Z Puppets Rosenschnoz, make crafts, and who learned about Tubman.

And a big special thanks to our fabulous music acts -- Little Fevers, Laura Hugo, and Victoria Carpenter -- and vendors -- Babycake's Book Stack, Blissful Cakery, Bound NOLO, Lulu + Co. All month long, we’ll be sharing resources, education, and ways to take meaningful action.

💜 Wear purple. 💜 Share resources. 💜 Support survivors.
