We are grateful to have already welcomed new members into Alpha Sigma Nu at five of our chapters this fall!

Loyola University Chicago, Marquette University, St. John’s College, College of the Holy Cross, and Gonzaga University have each celebrated induction ceremonies, marking a meaningful start to the academic year for nearly 400 new members.

We are excited to celebrate these members as they join our AΣN community, and we look forward to more induction ceremonies across our 33 campus chapters in the months ahead.

Congratulations to our newest Alpha Sigma Nu members, and thank you to the chapter leaders, Jesuits, staff, faculty, alumni, and institutional leadership who help make these meaningful celebrations so special!

What a wonderful ceremony inducting our new Alpha Sigma Nu members at Gonzaga University!

We gathered outside with the backdrop of the beautiful fall foliage to celebrate the inductees’ commitment to scholarship, loyalty, and service. As they take this next step, we’re excited to see all that they will accomplish as lifelong learners of the ASN community.

Alpha Sigma Nu has grown to 33 chapters strong! 🎉

Last month, St. John's College held its first induction ceremony, which aligned with the 140th anniversary of the college. Congratulations to our 23 new members and five new honorary inductees on this significant achievement.

We're excited to welcome you all to a national group of lifelong learners built on the shared Jesuit values of scholarship, loyalty, and service.

What does Jesuit leadership look like in action?

This week, the Alpha Sigma Nu community came together for a discussion of Leadership Lessons from the Jesuits: Cura Apostolica and the Mission-Driven Organization with Editor, Fr. Matthew Carnes, SJ, and Contributor, Fr. Gregory Boyle, SJ, for a discussion moderated by Dr. Cindy Schmersal on discernment, community, service, and love.

Fr. Carnes reminded us:

“Community engagement, that context that takes us out of our campus bubble and into the community is absolutely essential if we're going to be leaders in the world.”

Executive Director Clara Dwyer highlights one takeaway that continues to resonate:

“Allow the conviction that ‘love is always the next thing to do’ to become the measure of our decisions, relationships, and commitments.”

In her post-webinar reflection, Clara explores how this invitation can shape the way we lead, serve, and accompany others.

Welcome back, Alpha Sigma Nu!

As a new academic year gets underway across our colleges and universities we know the rhythm looks a little different on every campus. Whether the academic year is already underway, just getting started, or still around the corner we’re excited for all that the year will bring.

Earlier last month, we met with some of our E-Board members who will be leading our chapters. The orientation included discussion about what leadership looks like on campus and how to live out our values of scholarship, loyalty, and service.

To all of our members, faculty, staff, and campus communities: we wish you a meaningful year filled with opportunities to learn and serve others.

🇮🇩From the U.S. to Indonesia, lifelong membership in ASN engages the mission.

🌏At the World Union of Jesuit Alumni XI, ASN members, Josh Madrid, PhD (Regis ‘16), Allison Morog (Xavier, ‘22), and Jordan Glassman (St. Louis, ‘20) presented on how ASN serves as an important model for lifelong alumni engagement, rooted in scholarship, loyalty, and service.

On this Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Alpha Sigma Nu is proud to celebrate three chapters whose leadership and service bring the values of our Jesuit Honor Society to life.

Their work reflects the Ignatian call to seek the magis—not simply doing more, but striving for the greater good and using our gifts in service to others.
