A little snack can go a long way. 🧡💚

We’re grateful for longtime partner John Deere and their continued commitment to helping our communities. During a recent volunteer event, John Deere employees took on a new kind of packing project with us: assembling 𝟭𝟲,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 to help keep kids fueled and ready to learn, play and grow.

These packs will be distributed through youth programs, schools, and other organizations serving children across our community.

Thank you, John Deere, for showing up, pitching in and helping make sure more kids have access to the food they need. We’re proud to have you by our side.

A very special thank you to Johnson Financial Group and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for the generous $10,000 donation to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin through the Second Inning Hits Initiative!

With each Timber Rattlers second-inning hit helping provide up to 600 meals for families facing hunger, this special promotion turned moments on the field into meaningful support for our communities.

Following the recent severe storms across Wisconsin, this meaningful gift will be prioritized to help provide food and support to families impacted by the storms.

When people come together with a shared purpose, the impact adds up. 💪🧡💚

We’re grateful to the Hunger Heroes over at Milwaukee Tool for spending time volunteering with us and helping sort 4,521 pounds of non-perishable food at our facility. That’s the equivalent of 3,617 meals that can help support neighbors across our community.

Summer can be an especially challenging season. Eric, a hardworking dad, knows that story all too well.

While he’s in between jobs, Eric works part-time with delivery services like DoorDash to help supplement his family’s limited income. His wife stays at home due to health issues and focuses on providing child care for their five young children.

That’s seven mouths to feed all under one roof. So, when summer vacation rolls around — and his children no longer have access to school meals — Eric’s grocery bill often sees a spike. That’s not to mention recent cuts to federal funding programs like FoodShare and Medicaid putting an extra squeeze on their already tight budget.

“Everything out there is going up,” he says. “I have definitely seen that increase.”

That’s why Eric relies on the WestCare food pantry in Milwaukee, a hunger relief partner of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, to feed his family.

Each grocery bag he carries home is filled with the essential foods his family needs, like meats, eggs, fresh produce, and canned goods. Because of your support, Eric can breathe a sigh of relief. He knows his family will be OK.

To compassionate friends like you who give, Eric shares his heartfelt thanks.

“I’m very thankful for everything [donors] do for the community, myself included,” he says. “It goes a long way.”

For more than 40 years, the Community Food Pantry of Merrill has shown what can happen when a community comes together to care for its neighbors. 🧡💚

What began as a local effort to help families facing difficult circumstances has grown into a lasting source of support for households throughout Lincoln County. Today, a dedicated team of volunteers continues that mission by helping connect neighbors with the food and assistance they need.

We’re grateful to work alongside pantry partners like the Community Food Pantry of Merrill, whose commitment to their community continues to make a meaningful difference, one neighbor at a time.

Earlier today, we caught up with Lauren Heinen, WI Market Development Advisor at Independent Care Health Plan (iCare), a Humana Inc. subsidiary, during Humana Community Day to hear what volunteering at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin meant to her and the impact she and her colleagues were able to make for families facing hunger.

Humana Community Day is an annual, nationwide day of service that brings thousands of Humana associates together to support healthier, more resilient communities by responding to local needs, including food insecurity. In 2025 alone, more than 12,000 Humana employees participated in 220 volunteer events across 27 states and Puerto Rico.

Throughout the day, nearly 130 associates from Humana and its subsidiaries, iCare and Inclusa brought that spirit of service to our Milwaukee and Appleton campuses, working alongside our teams to prepare food boxes for distribution.

We're grateful to partners like Humana, iCare, and Inclusa who turn a day of service into an opportunity to strengthen our communities. Thank you!

A child should be thinking about the first day of school, seeing their friends again, and what the year ahead will bring.

But new data shows that 𝟭-𝗶𝗻-𝟱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 across Eastern Wisconsin are facing food insecurity. That means kids in our communities are heading into the school year without consistent access to the food they need.

But there is still time to help! Through August 31, your gift to Healthy Kids, Healthy Summer will DOUBLE, helping provide twice the support for children.

Every act of generosity, regardless of the amount, can help put more food on the table for a child, ease the burden on a family, and ensure more kids have the nourishment they need as they head back to school.
