"Midwest Mujeres is very proud of our continued relationship with Shirmiel and divine expectations. Our collaboration goes deep. Shirmiel was a graduate of our second cohort and she spoke in front of a crowd of over 180 people of a time when she felt isolated and without community. I’m so glad that Midwest is one of the many community collaborators that she has now. This gift of Dove body wash is so important for the women and children that visit our organization. Our support group model coaches women of color on public, speaking and storytelling and networking skills to help elevate their passion and dreams. This product will help us and the women we serve. Meet your Black Girl Magic 2026 Session Leader, Shirmiel Duncan!

After 7½ years as a commercial child care business owner, Shirmiel has expanded her expertise in training, mentoring, community outreach, and forming small business partnerships.

She is passionate about helping rebuild the child care industry by raising awareness amongst the next generation of young women, and we cannot wait to have her at the conference!

We had a very wonderful time volunteering at this years Brat Fest! We met so many wonderful people, and worked to serve the people alongside many other wonderful organizations!
(We had 2 volunteers missing that were not in this group photo- hopefully we can get them added later)

We hope we can do it again next year 2027!

Today- we stand with many thanks and greatfulness to have met one more person. I shared with tbis organization about the Dove initiative that occured.
