Last week, UEDA was pleased to attend our member Safe & Sound, Inc. Hope Has an Address Annual Breakfast!

We enjoyed learning more about their work to build safer, stronger neighborhoods across Milwaukee and Racine. A powerful reading by ENOUGH! highlighted the importance and impact of this work in our communities.

During the event, Safe & Sound also announced A Legacy of Safety, a capital campaign to establish a permanent home for community resources, connection, and opportunity.

Last week, Health & Wealth Managing Attorney Jourdan Glenn led a training on Estate and Legacy Planning for a group of financial coaches, loan officers, and realtors, hosted at the YWCA by Take Root Milwaukee and Urban Economic Development Association of WI (UEDA).

🍂 A wonderful evening celebrating community and connection at the Urban Economic Development Association of WI (UEDA) Annual Community Gathering!

Last month, community members and partners came together to reflect on UEDA’s impact over the past year, look ahead to the year to come and celebrate the individuals whose contributions help advance its work.

Our staff members Erin Frederick and Yalanda Ludtke were glad to join the celebration and connect with partners making a difference in our community.

We’re grateful for UEDA’s year-round work bringing partners together and connecting individuals and families to resources that support financial stability and sustainable homeownership.

📊 The Power of Local Data!

UEDA staff had a great time attending Data Day 2026 at Discovery World, hosted by Data You Can Use!

The event brought together community leaders, organizations, and data enthusiasts to explore how local data can drive meaningful change. From engaging workshops to insightful panel discussions, it was a day full of learning, collaboration, and connection.

Nearly 40 financial coaches and practitioners joined us last Friday for Estate & Legacy Planning for Financial Coaches & Practitioners! 🏡📋

Offered to UEDA’s Financial Health Coach and Take Root Milwaukee member networks, this interactive training focused on helping practitioners strengthen their ability to serve as navigators and advocates for clients working through estate and legacy planning.

Thank you to Coretta Herring of Pathways to Financial Empowerment for facilitating the session and to our presenters Jourdan Glenn, Legal Aid Society; Constance Alberts, Bank On Greater Milwaukee; and Leonard Cratic from State Farm Insurance for sharing their expertise with our participants.
