But we harvested some cool blue corn (actually it's popcorn!) from the Three Sisters garden and some amazing black soybeans from the George Washington Carver garden. And let's celebrate those peanuts, still growing strong! 🌱

Sherman Park & Metcalfe Park neighborhoods - Get ready to turn your trash to treasure! 🌱 This week, we built a new three-bin compost system at Antoine's Garden (stewarded by The MiddleGround MKE). Transform vegetable scraps, eggshells, coffee grounds, and spent garden plants into nutrient-rich compost to fuel a thriving garden. 💚

Congratulations, Hidayah! 🎉 Check out this UWM Report article about her work in Prof. Arijit Sen's Field School. One aspect of that research has been spending time in community gardens to learn about the surrounding neighborhoods and communities. She has helped compile and design a book of recipes shared by people in the neighborhood, and has helped shoot a video that shares the history of the Cherry Street Garden.

We were absolutely thrilled to see our wonderful neighbors from Little Miss Lovely's day care stop by our Little Free Library while out on their morning stroll! The kids were excited to pick out a book to read together. It's moments like these that make our community feel so special, and we're grateful for the opportunity to share our love of reading with the people around us. ❤️📚

We're thrilled to announce the reopening of our Little Free Library at Cherry Street Garden, now in a more visible spot! Our mission is to bridge the gap for local children who lack access to books at home and face limited opportunities to visit public libraries. Help us fuel their imagination and literacy journey with donations of gently used children's books, especially those perfect for early learners (first grade and younger)! 📖📚❤️
