Bread of Healing Clinic has been featured in an article by Milwaukee Neighborhood News highlighting the burgeoning crisis of Medicaid changes leaving thousands at risk of being uninsured and how the Bread of Healing Clinic is putting out a Call to Action to the community at large to help us sustain and expand!

We're so glad to see our partner Bread of Healing Clinic featured in a recent CBS 58 story on rising healthcare costs and growing demand at free clinics across Milwaukee. As demand grows, Bread of Healing is expanding its hours and hopes to add a new south side location at Unity Lutheran Church.

So grateful for the compassionate, steady care Bread of Healing Clinic provides for our community.

We were grateful to welcome Milwaukee County Executive and gubernatorial candidate David Crowley to Bread of Healing Clinic today.

His visit gave our staff, volunteers, students, and interns an opportunity to share what we’re seeing and hearing every day from our patients and community—including the challenges facing uninsured and underinsured individuals and the broader state of healthcare access.

We also appreciated the opportunity to hear his vision and priorities for Wisconsin.

As a community health clinic, our role is not political—it’s to care, to listen, and to advocate for the health and well-being of the people we serve. We welcome opportunities to engage with elected officials and community leaders across the political spectrum because, regardless of who holds office, we believe those making decisions about healthcare should hear directly from the people on the front lines of care.

Thank you, David Crowley, for taking the time to visit, listen, and learn more about the work of Bread of Healing Clinic. We look forward to continuing these important conversations. ❤️

🦷 It Took a Community to Bring Back Her Smile 😁
A volunteer dental team. Generous supporters. One woman who never gave up hope.

For more than 10 years, a 63-year-old woman in our community lived without teeth.

Over time, the impact reached far beyond her smile. She lost confidence, avoided photographs, and often hid behind a mask. Eating became increasingly difficult, limiting her ability to maintain proper nutrition and support her overall health. Managing chronic conditions such as blood pressure, weight, and blood sugar became even more challenging.

Then she came to Bread of Healing Clinic. With the support of our volunteer dental team and the generous funding provided by the Wisconsin Dental Association and the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association, she received a full set of dentures that changed her life.

As her son's wedding approached, she had one simple wish: to smile freely in family photos and celebrate this milestone without feeling self-conscious.

Today, she can. She recently shared that we gave her much more than new teeth. We gave her back her smile, her confidence, her ability to enjoy meals again, and a piece of herself she thought was lost forever.

This is the power of accessible dental care. Oral health is health. It impacts nutrition, chronic disease management, self-esteem, and quality of life.
