This week, the Zonta Club of Midland kicked off its new club year and proudly inducted its new leadership team.

Under the leadership of President Cora Provoast, the 2026–2027 Board includes:

• Ann Bieneman, Treasurer

The entire club looks forward to another year of service to our community and advancing Zonta’s mission of building a better world for women and girls.

Last night, the Zonta Club of Midland celebrated an incredible year of accomplishments and service to our community. Here are just a few highlights from this past year:

✨ Welcomed 13 new club members�✨ Awarded $4,000 in scholarships to three women returning to school�✨ Presented three $500 local awards recognizing excellence in Women in Business, Young Women in Leadership, and Women in STEM�✨ Granted $10,000 to local nonprofits supporting programs for women and girls�✨ Donated $13,000 to the Zonta International Foundation for Women�✨ Had strong member engagement, with eight members attending the District Fall Conference and 10 attending the North American Inter-District Meeting�✨ Celebrated another successful Annual Zonta Homewalk — thank you to our wonderful homeowners and sponsors!

We are excited to kick off a new club year and welcome new leadership on June 2nd. If you are passionate about empowering women and girls, we would love to welcome you as a new member!

On Saturday, the Zonta Club of Midland hosted a reception honoring incoming Zonta International District 15 Governor Cindy Vickery. A dedicated member since 2012, Cindy’s leadership and commitment make us incredibly proud.

The event was well attended, with the outgoing governor and board, four past governors, and most of the incoming district board joining in the celebration.

Special thanks to Eastman Party Store for the fantastic food and beverages, and to Hannah’s Flowers for the beautiful arrangement.

Working globally through Zonta for climate justice.

As Zontians, we stand for climate justice, women in decision-making, education equality and ending violence against women. While it might be more obvious to say Earth Day is about climate justice, the facts prove that where climate change is prevalent, these other causes are also impacted. --Salla Tuominen, Zonta International President.

We welcomed four new members during our April business meeting today! Please say hello to Erica Pina', Kathy Frost, Michelle Hinskey and Vanessa Medeles! In addition to inducting these new members we voted on the new budget, received the slate of officers for next year, displayed our “Julie Dolls” in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and learned about the Zonta Says NOW initiative on climate justice.

It was a productive day! We next meet on Tuesday, April 21st for our annual auction, which is always a fun night!

Midland lost an amazing Zontian last week with the passing of Sandy Weimer. A 35 year member, past president, delegate and attendee of many international conventions, sponsor and committee member for Homewalk, Sandy was involved at every level. She is and will be missed.
