We are 2 weeks away from our first party of the school year!

We look forward to hosting students at our foam party. Students will get the chance to make their own foam and make a mess with it (we'll try to get it out of their system before they go home 😉).

If you've been to our office before, you know that it was a bit plain and a bit weedy out front. It is gorgeous now. Even the bees and butterflies seem to like it 🐝🦋

📚 Afterschool is about so much more than what happens after the school day ends.

At The ROCK, an afternoon might include homework help, a STEM project, a new club, time with friends, a healthy meal, or a conversation with a trusted adult.

Behind all of those activities is something bigger: helping young people develop confidence, connection, resilience, and essential life skills.

These are skills that don't disappear when a student leaves our program. They go with them into the classroom, their first job, their relationships, and their future.

Last night The ROCK, Saginaw Children's Zoo, Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan, Shelterhouse, and Girls on the Run - Great Lakes Bay had the honor of accepting a K's for Kids check from Deloitte. These funds will go a long way in supporting families and youth in the Great Lakes Bay region.

Additionally, we were happy to have Site Supervisor Katie's grandpa honored as the Hometown Hero of the Night. Thank you, Great LakesGreat Lakes Loons team, for making that happen 💙💜💚

As we all head back to school and adjust to changing routines, it's important to remember to have patience.

Taking a breather and then addressing the issue will ensure everyone comes out of the situation with understanding and feeling like they've been heard.

♟️Chess club has kicked off at Meridian!

Clubs at The ROCK are more than just a way to pass time. They're a way for students to explore new interests, connect with a diverse group of peers, and practice resilience when things don't go the way they hoped.
