There are very few spots left for Aviation Camp!

Aviation Camp, held June 22 - 26 from 10:00 - 4:30pm is for high school students (9th - 12th grade in the '26-'27 school year) who have an interest in aviation. During camp we cover the basics of aviation, have career speakers each day, and visit MBS airport.

Due to the generosity of the family of Bill Eyre and Dr. and Mrs. Perry, registration for camp is $45 (normally $95).

Due to forecasted high winds Young Eagles flights for tomorrow, May 9 have been cancelled.

We know how disappointing this is for all involved. However we want to ensure that these flights are not only safe but also enjoyable. While a plane can absolutely fly in tomorrow's winds, it is above our threshold for an enjoyable flight.

Today is Give Local Midland and we are participating!

With so many deserving groups fundraising today why should you consider EAA 1093?

Our fund is used to maintain our building at Jack Barstow Airport. With this building we are able to provide many fun and educational opportunities to explore and learn about aviation. These include our pancake breakfasts, an aviation camp for high school students, young eagle flights (free flights for ages 8-17), scholarships for students learning to fly or be an aviation mechanic, a group aircraft build, the Santa fly-in and more.

Our mission is to share the spirit of aviation and we are proud of the work we have done to do so. With your help we can continue our mission for years to come.

Tomorrow is the big day: where we fire up those grills, get the doughnut cooker sizzling and serve you a delicious breakfast!

Not only is tomorrow one of our favorite days because we get to share it with all of you - it's also one of our biggest fundraisers. By coming to breakfast tomorrow you don't only get a great meal and see some cool aircraft while your kiddos get to enjoy children's activities. You also help us continue our mission of sharing the spirit of aviation. Proceeds from our breakfasts go toward Scholarships, Young Eagles, Aviation Camp, Chapter Builds, College & Career Days, Santa Fly-In and other educational endeavors and events.

Fly or drive in to Jack Barstow Airport tomorrow from 7:00 -11:00am to join us. We would love to serve you tomorrow and share our love of aviation with you!

In light of the cold weather expected we will have a to go option as well!

Today, April 26 is World Pilot Day.

From providing military support, to hauling mail and cargo to carrying people, aviation has played a huge role in our lives for years. Today we celebrate all types of pilots who have made the sky their playground and make a living staring out a window at a view others can only dream of.

Or course, without the hard work from several non-flying aviation jobs pilots wouldn't be able to do theirs. From the engineers who design the aircraft and airports, to air traffic controllers and mechanics there are hundreds of jobs in aviation to choose from.

If you are curious about aviation careers join us today from 1:00pm - 3:00pm for our Aviation College & Career Day where you can learn about various careers and how to reach them.

Reminder:
Aviation College & Career Day is this Sunday from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
This is an informational event for anyone considering a career in aviation. Speakers from various careers as well as representatives from career pathways will be on hand to answer all of your questions.

Pancake Breakfast is next Saturday, May 2 from 7:00am - 11:00am!
This twice-annual event is a community favorite. Fly or drive in to enjoy pancakes, eggs, sausage and our famous homemade doughnuts. Kids activities will be available.
