For those of you that were asking - here’s the the scoop!

We need your help with battery sorting.

In the last 48 hours, Midland Recyclers collected 50 pounds of batteries. Of those, 48 pounds were sorted incorrectly or left for our staff to sort.

Our battery sorting instructions changed on October 1. Please read the new instructions carefully and sort your batteries before dropping them off. Proper battery handling is important for the safety of our customers, volunteers, and staff, and sorting batteries left behind takes time and resources away from other work.

We appreciate everyone who helps keep this program running. To continue accepting batteries, we need every person dropping them off to follow the posted sorting instructions. Thank you for doing your part.

🔋 BATTERIES ARE BACK… AND THEY HAVE SORTING INSTRUCTIONS! ♻️

Starting October 1, Midland Recyclers will accept batteries again—with new sorting rules!

We know—the instructions look like you might need a science degree and three cups of coffee. 😂☕ But don’t let the brochure scare you! Take it one step at a time, it’s easier than it looks.

Please read our updated brochure carefully and follow the sorting, preparation, and packaging instructions—even if you’ve brought us batteries before!

Your careful sorting helps keep our customers, volunteers, and staff safe and keeps this program going. 💚

Stumped by a battery? Ask us! We’d much rather answer a question than play “Guess What’s in This Bucket.” 🔋🪣

Good morning Recyclers!

Yesterday we recycled 1,192 pounds of batteries that we collected between January 1st and yesterday!

With that being said, our current battery recycling station needs to be updated.

We are temporarily suspending our battery recycling program until October 1st, in order to ensure we are sorting all of our batteries correctly.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Good morning Recyclers!

On your next visit, things may look a little different. Our black carts are now for cardboard only. Every cart has two stickers saying they are cardboard only, and there’s a sign by where the carts are kept.

Thank you for helping us keep our carts clean.
