A Kid Again is dedicated to providing hope, happiness and healing for families raising children who are living with a life-threatening condition. We make life for families caring for a child with a life-threatening condition “normal” again by helping them gain back moments of positive, family-shared experiences and memories. A chance to be a kid again; time away from the hospital; an opportunity t

o forget about being sick; a group experience to a local destination with tickets, food, parking, mementos, and memories to last until the next Adventure. A Kid Again is specifically designed to involve the entire family (not just the child who is ill) to improve the well-being of everyone affected by the situation. This approach helps protect and strengthen the children’s primary support network and personal resolve during the most difficult period of their lives. Our Impact!

It's Mission Monday! Every dollar raised through Capes & Crowns helps A Kid Again provide year-round Adventures and carefree moments for families raising children with life-threatening conditions.

In 2026, 4,156 family members have attended an Adventure! From the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Zoo, Grand Rapids Gold, Michigan's Adventure, Saginaw Spirit, Sloan Museum of Discovery to United Shore Professional Baseball League, countless memories have been made!

It's Thankful Thursday! Today we're celebrating Delta Dental of Michigan for supporting Capes & Crowns!

We're grateful for their partnership and commitment to helping A Kid Again create carefree moments for our families. Delta Dental team members spent time during their workday decorating capes for our enrolled kids to wear at our Capes and Crowns Walk and Family Fest on Saturday, September 19 at LMCU Ballpark .

Huge THANK YOU to the Little River Casino Resort in Manistee, MI.

A Kid Again Michigan was one of 10 charities selected to be the beneficiary of their annual Golf Outing that took place in July. Through the success of the golf outing they donated $6,800 to help provide Adventures to children throughout the state of Michigan. Partners like Little River Casino help children with life threatening conditions and their families make memories and experience the joy of an Adventure.

Capes and Crowns Walk and Family Fun Fest

What is Capes & Crowns? Capes & Crowns is both a Walk and a Family Fun Fest ending with an amazing movie, The Incredibles. When you register to attend, you are signing up for the entire experience, from the fun activities, community booth visiting, Walk of Heros, and ending the night with a movie in the outfield.
The walk itself is a short, family-friendly route (perfect for all ages and abilities!) that celebrates the strength and resilience of our amazing kids. During the walk we will announce the top fundraisers and celebrate our A Kid Again families.

Who can attend? Anyone! This event is open to A Kid Again families as well as the community!
