Bock Community Garden

Bock Community Garden The City is responsible for establishing the overall policies, rules, and processes that guide the operation and use of the garden.

Bock Community Garden is located on conservancy land - the Bock Community Forest Unit of Pheasant Branch Conservancy, and is part of the Middleton City Parks & Recreation Department. Bock Community Garden opened in 2009 and is located on conservancy land - the Bock Community Forest Unit of Pheasant Branch Conservancy, and is part of the Middleton City Parks & Recreation Department. These may inclu

de matters related to land use, safety, public access, and alignment with city-wide initiatives or ordinances. To assist with the day-to-day operations, the City partners with the Bock Community Garden Volunteer Committee, a group of community volunteers who serve as the on-site management team. The BCG Committee meets monthly and ensures the successful operations of the garden. Because of the location of the community garden on land acquired for conservation purposes, a special relationship exists between the Bock Forest and the Community Garden. Due to this, there are fairly extensive rules for the garden and a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer service per gardener. A portion of the produce harvested from these gardens is donated to the WayForward Food Pantry in Middleton, WI.

The City of Middleton turned on the water spigots at BCG yesterday! 👏

Remember some of these watering tips:
-water at the base of your plants, not on the leaves
-water deeply once or twice a week to encourage deeper roots
-use mulch to hold moisture and keep the soil cooler
-if you find a hose or water spigot that is broken or leaking, let us know
-remember to turn off the water spigot tightly
