Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health

Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health Infant mental health (IMH) is synonymous with social and emotional development in our youngest children.

We aim for all Wisconsin infants and young children to reach their fullest potential through nurturing and consistent relationships within the context of family, community, and culture Social and emotional development involves skills such as self confidence, curiosity, motivation, persistence, self control, and trust--all of which affect future learning, growth, and success. The development of all

of these traits begins in infancy and within the context of relationships. Emotional and social milestones include a child's ability to experience, regulate and express emotions, and form close and secure interpersonal relationships. A child's capacities to identify their own feelings, experience empathy for another and constructively manage strong emotions are skills that begin in early childhood and support later learning.

Mental Health Awareness Month is winding down, but the importance of mental health lasts all year round. In celebration of this month, and a reminder that our mental health always requires our awareness first, some of the WI-AIMH staff participated in the month's theme, "more good days together," and the prompt question: What does a good day look like for you?

For GOOD DAYS, by staff, see & share the graphics!

Which do you resonate with the most? Share in the comments below what a good day looks like for you. And remember to stay mindful of your mental health day by day. πŸ’š

πŸ“’ Community Opportunity! ...from our friends at ZERO TO THREE πŸ’™β€

On June 9 at 12pm EDT, Strolling Thunder babies and families from across the country will gather at Upper Senate Park for the 2026 Strolling Thunder rally calling on federal lawmakers to invest in good health, strong families, and positive early learning experiences.

If you’re in the Washington, DC area, we hope that you’ll join us in person. But, if you can’t attend, you can still help elevate family voices by sharing content online and encouraging your networks to take action for babies and families.

As members of the ZERO TO THREE family, we hope you’ll help make this milestone year our biggest yet. 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Strolling Thunder, and this year’s message is clear: it’s time to make babies a national priority.

We encourage you to:

πŸ‘‰ Attend the rally in person
πŸ‘‰ Invite local families and partners to join
πŸ‘‰ Volunteer to help support the event
πŸ‘‰ Amplify Strolling Thunder on social media using this toolkit

Thank you for helping us celebrate 10 years of family advocacy. We hope to see you on June 9!
