“Some people plant in the spring and leave in the summer. If you’re signed up for a season, see it through. You don’t have to stay forever, but at least stay until you see it through.” (Jim Rohn)

What does this mean for WREA?

For 75 years, WREA has grown strong because of members who chose to stay, serve, and see it through. Their commitment built the foundation we stand on today—and it’s that same dedication that will carry us forward.

As we celebrate our 75th Anniversary in 2026, we honor those who came before us—and invite you to be part of what comes next.

Your voice, your involvement, your commitment—these are what shape the future for generations of retirees.

Will you help carry the legacy forward? Join us and be part of something that lasts:

Imagine yourself as a kid, walking through the hallways of your school, eyes lighting up when you spot your favorite teacher. Who was that unforgettable educator—the one who stood out from the rest and made you feel truly special? Maybe they had a unique way of making learning fun, or perhaps they took extra time to help you succeed when you needed it most.

Too often, we forget just how much teachers pour their hearts into their students, going above and beyond every day. Some teachers even give up their precious prep time just to sit down with a student, making sure every child has the chance to thrive. Let's celebrate those inspiring moments and show teachers the appreciation they truly deserve!

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up—Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 8th. National Teacher Appreciation Day falls on Tuesday, May 5th. As a retired educator, recall a time when someone went out of their way to express gratitude for your dedication. This week, take a moment to honor teachers who make a difference every day—show your appreciation and let them know how much their hard work means.
