Last summer we shared copies of our Love Wisconsin book with several independent books stores around the state, to give away to patrons. Janke Book Store saved a few for this special day. So thrilled to partner with them and share Wisconsin stories with everyone. Support your independent book store!!

Partnering with the Wisconsin Humanities Council, we are giving away this beautiful hardcover book today while supplies last! Love Wisconsin!
(We have about 60 copies to give away.)
Happy Independent Bookstore Day!

Follow former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Nicholas Gulig in a reflective homecoming told through the shared landscapes and poetry of his life and that of famed 20th century Wisconsin poet Lorine Niedecker (1903–1970) of Fort Atkinson.

The museum carries forward his mission and vision to build public awareness of the harmful legacies of slavery and Jim Crow in America and promote racial repair, reconciliation, and healing.

Dena Wortzel, WH Director, chats with Jen and Jessica in the latest Human Powered podcast episode about who she met and what WH heard in Spooner, Superior, Eau Claire, Green Bay, and Milwaukee, and at virtual sessions with people from all corners of the state. Participants in the Listening Sessions shared how they are caring for their communities despite challenges like changing demographics and scarce resources. Dena also shares more about WH's plans for the Semiquincentennial and other programs that respond to the needs we heard. WH is committed as always to fueling that positive energy in 2026. https://wisconsinhumanities.org/programs/human-powered-podcast-season-4/
