Working from home sounds great. Then reality sets in.

Working at home works for some people. It takes an extra layer of discipline that I, frankly, don’t have. My husband worked from home for years and was great at it. I worked from home briefly while waiting for the wifi to get hooked up here at Community CoWorks and was terrible at it. I learned that the contents of the refrigerator don’t change no matter how many times one walks into the kitchen and looks.

People who are great at working from home might not be quite so great when school lets out. For some it’s a necessity, of course, because the kids are not old enough to be left alone for the day and babysitters are usually not free. (Yes, I see you, Grandma.)

Coworking is a great option for remote-home workers in the summer. At Community CoWorks we have offices available on a month to month terms. There is also drop in space and dedicated desks available just for the summer. If you need to make a conference call uninterrupted by 100 decibel question about the location of swim trunks, we’re here for you.
