WDNA RADIO Known worldwide as South Florida's premiere jazz music station, WDNA was licensed in 1977 by the FCC WDNA was born in 1980. Anyone remember those?

We began broadcasting in a humble trailer in Homestead, FL using 8-track tapes. From our homey trailer, we moved to a warehouse in west Miami, and eventually built a solid vinyl collection. The warehouse was definitely a dive, but that didn't stop legends like Celia Cruz from hanging out with us and recording there! In 1992 Hurricane Andrew destroyed our tower in Homestead. For about four years while we scraped together funds, we put up a temporary tower on top of the Marriott Dadeland and operated at only 1000 watts! In 1998, we secured a stronger antenna, signal, and solidified our format as primarily jazz. Finally, in 2008, we moved to our current locale on Coral Way. WDNA is home to beautiful studios, an amazing catalog room, and our very own Jazz Gallery, where we host performing and visual artists. Thanks for being a part of WDNA! Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida under artistic director Vladimir Issaev, presents Dracula, a special one-night program for the Halloween season. The full-length ballet by choreographer Roberto Forleo makes its Miami premiere. Inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel, the work blends classical ballet with contemporary expression. The performance includes a pre-show discussion thirty minutes before curtain. Costumes are welcome.

FIU Music Hour highlights the incredible talent of the Florida International University Wertheim School of Music’s jazz students, faculty, and esteemed alumni and airs every Tuesday. This week the FIU Music Hour welcomes the NASM Project.

The NASM Project is a modern quartet focused on bringing a fresh creative approach on the jazz tradition. The ensemble aims to provide a diverse mix of music from both current artists influencing the generation today and past titans that have pioneered the jazz genre.

Band members include: Samuel Shuman-Perez, Tenor Saxophone; Anier Gonzalez, Bass; Manesh Hiranand, Piano, and Naphat Thanoosorn, Drums.

A limited number of free tickets are available for in-studio seating. Arrive by 10:45am to be seated before the live broadcast begins.

The 9th Annual Faena Jazz Series continues with a Celebration of Latin Jazz on Wednesday, October 21 featuring multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy winners Sammy Figueroa and Aymee Nuviola.

Legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa and the magnificent Cuban vocalist Aymee Nuviola warmly invite you to join them in an evening of Afro-Cuban rhythms, expressive vocals and masterful improvisation rich in energy and soul.
