Lake City Lions Club held 45th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on 4/17/21. Club raised $6000 which will benefit Columbia County residents in the form of eye sight conservation. If you know someone that needs eye sight services, please have them reach out to us here!

Lake City Lions Club partnered with Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on a project for homeless children in Columbia County. Lake City Lions donated $800 to the "Go Bags" Project.

Did you know that there are over 500 homeless children right here in Columbia County?
It’s true. Homeless can refer to children sleeping in the woods or sleeping in their family car with siblings and parent or parents. Others are in transition from house to house wherever they can find someone to take them in for a night or two and perhaps get a bath if they’re lucky. Or they may be staying with friends or relatives sleeping on the floor for an undeterminable length of time due to family issues. Regardless of their circumstances, these 500 plus children that are in grades K through 12, right here in Columbia County, live their present lives as homeless. This is where Go Bags come in. They are a gift for a homeless child consisting of a sleeping bag, a pillow and pillow case, a blanket, stuffed animal, a Bible, flashlight and personal care items.

If anyone in the community is interested in helping with this project , please message the club and I will provide you with the information to contact the coordinator at the church. Lake City Lions Club will also accept any donations of personal care items or any items listed above.

The Lake City Lions Club partnered with Hamilton County Health Department who does not have a Lions Club. We provided eye sight applications to those that qualify for primary care through the health department in the hopes of also providing eye sight services to these individuals in our community.

The Lake City Lions Club Now offers Foundation scholarships through FGC- Florida Gateway College in the amount of $1800 yearly. New projects include Adopt a Highway cleanup, Columbia County Health Department partnership outreach for Columbia County residents needing eye sight services such as comprehensive Eye exam and glasses, and ongoing Bones Thomas Gumball project. Lake City Lions Club has over 45 machines located at various business around Columbia County. 100 percent of the funds raised directly go to eye sight conservation and eye sight related projects. Lake City Lions Club provided vision screenings to 110 children at Epiphany Catholic School today. The children that did not pass the eye exam were provided with Lions Club assistance and referral to have a Comprehensive eye exam and new glasses through partnership with North Florida Eye Care.
